Plasma Cortisol and Behaviour in Early Weaned Piglets
Comparisons were made of Cortisol concentration and behavioural activity between piglets weaned at 3 weeks of age (early weaned piglets), and piglets weaned at 8 weeks of age (control piglets). Early weaned littermates were placed in cages with a floor area of either 0.20 m2 per piglet or 0.15 m2 per piglet.

ABSTRACT Over recent years the use of yeast in feedstuffs has gained momentum due to novel developments in single‐cell proteins (SCPs). SCPs are considered a sustainable protein source, as their production enable to convert low‐value substrates (including industrial/agricultural wastes) into feed, with a related reduced environmental impact. Abstract figure legend We used an intersectional approach with recombinase‐expressing mice and adeno‐associated virus to map and modulate distinct nociceptive afferents in the vagal ganglia. TRPV1+P2X2+ neurons resided in the nodose ganglion (N), innervated the lungs (many projected into the alveoli) but not the trachea, and projected to the nucleus ...
