Inadequate Zinc Intake in Adolescents Aggravates Inflammatory Bowel Disease by Inhibiting Antibody Class Switch Recombination in Mucosal B Cells Through Intestinal Microbial‐Derived KMV

open access: yesiMetaMed, EarlyView.
The study reveals that inadequate zinc intake disrupts gut microbiota's ability to degrade isoleucine, leading to the accumulation of metabolite KMV. KMV inhibits antibody class‐switching in mucosal B cells by suppressing the p‐ATM‐CTIP‐Hmces pathway, impairing IgA/IgG production.

Screening of m6A-associated ferroptosis-related genes in atherosclerosis based on WGCNA

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundN6-methyladenosine (m6A) has been shown to mediate ferroptosis but its role in atherosclerosis (AS) is unclear.MethodsDifferentially expressed m6A-associated ferroptosis-related genes (DE-m6A-Ferr-RGs) were obtained using differential expression analysis and Pearson correlation analysis.

Decoding temporal miRNA signatures of semen under in vitro exposure for forensic time since deposition estimation using machine learning‐driven modeling

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
This study develops a novel miRNA‐based framework for estimating the time since deposition of semen stains, combining small RNA sequencing with machine learning. Time‐dependent miRNA modules were identified using Mfuzz clustering and WGCNA, followed by a multi‐stage feature selection pipeline that reduced 261 candidate miRNAs to a minimal 7‐miRNA panel.

Holistic bone developing microenvironment engineered apoptotic extracellular vesicles recapitulate multidimensional developmental signatures in adult and senile bone repair

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, EarlyView.
The developing bone was identified as an M2a‐like macrophage driven immune microenvironment with multidimensional developmental signatures. hME‐ApoEVs were successfully fabricated via stimulating the M2a‐like developing microenvironment in vitro and confirmed its recapitulation of developmental features.

Gut microbial features can predict host phenotype response to protein deficiency. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Malnutrition remains a major health problem in low- and middle-income countries. During low protein intake, <0.67 g/kg/day, there is a loss of nitrogen (N2 ) balance, due to the unavailability of amino acid for metabolism and unbalanced protein ...

Chronic Low‐Dose Unsymmetrical Dimethylhydrazine Exposure in Rats: Multiorgan Mechanisms and Biomarker Identification

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH), a highly toxic rocket propellant with known multiorgan effects, requires urgent characterization of its chronic low‐dose toxicity. Using an integrated approach including exploratory transcriptomics (n = 3/group) and metabolomic (n = 4/group) approaches in male Sprague–Dawley rats exposed to high‐dose ...

Indirubin and Retinoic Acid Show Binding Affinity to Monocyte Biomarker CSF3R in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Through single‐cell RNA‐sequencing and high‐dimensional weighted gene co‐expression network analysis, two monocyte‐related biomarkers (CSF3R, IFITM3) were identified in the peripheral blood of Parkinson's disease. Molecular docking revealed two targeted drugs (Indirubin and Retinoic acid).
