Structure and Electronic Transport in Graphene Wrinkles

open access: yesNano Letters, 2012
Wrinkling is a ubiquitous phenomenon in two-dimensional membranes. In particular, in the large-scale growth of graphene on metallic substrates, high densities of wrinkles are commonly observed. Despite their prevalence and potential impact on large-scale

Periorbital skin index as a biomarker for biological aging and health status [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Aging
BackgroundThe periorbital skin area is particularly susceptible to aging compared to other facial regions due to its unique anatomical features and frequent muscle movements. This leads to early development of wrinkles and discoloration, which affect one’

Oblique wrinkles [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2017
We prove theoretically that when a soft solid is subjected to an extreme deformation, wrinkles can form on its surface at an angle that is oblique to a principal direction of stretch. These oblique wrinkles occur for a strain that is smaller than the one required to obtain wrinkles normal to the direction of greatest compression.

The Study of the Wrinkles of Hexagonal Boron-Nitride Flake after the Annealing

open access: yesCrystals, 2023
Hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) flakes have been widely used due to their excellent physical and chemical properties. Here, thermal-induced wrinkles of thin h-BN flakes deposited on silicon dioxide substrate were investigated through a combination of ...

Wrinkled DNA [PDF]

open access: yesNucleic Acids Research, 1983
The B form of poly d(GC):poly d(GC) in orthorhombic microcrystallites in oriented fibers has a secondary structure in which a dinucleotide is the repeated motif rather than a mononucleotide as in standard, smooth B DNA. One set of nucleotides (probably GpC) has the same conformations as the smooth form but the alternate (CpG) nucleotides have a ...

High Precision Use of Botulinum Toxin Type A (BONT-A) in Aesthetics Based on Muscle Atrophy, Is Muscular Architecture Reprogramming a Possibility? A Systematic Review of Literature on Muscle Atrophy after BoNT-A Injections

open access: yesToxins, 2022
Improvements in Botulinum toxin type-A (BoNT-A) aesthetic treatments have been jeopardized by the simplistic statement: “BoNT-A treats wrinkles”. BoNT-A monotherapy relating to wrinkles is, at least, questionable.
