Wrinkle lip pattern in smokers and non-smokers for identification in forensic dentistry

open access: yesPadjadjaran Journal of Dentistry, 2014
Introduction: Lip prints can be used as one of support for identification Because it has a pattern or lip wrinkles that never the same (unique) in each individual. Smoking has become a common habit and widespread in the community.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

Mechanics and Strategies for Wrinkling Suppression: A Review

open access: yesFrontiers in Mechanical Engineering, 2022
Wrinkling is a well-known phenomenon observed at various length scales for diverse materials. Despite a variety of research studies focusing on investigating wrinkling mechanisms and utilizing them to create surface patterns recently, wrinkling also ...

Translating whole‐genome doubling into precision medicine in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Whole‐genome doubling creates a WGD‐positive tumor state characterized by persistent chromosomal instability, karyotypic diversification, and cellular stress. These same biological pressures drive aggressive tumor evolution while exposing therapeutic vulnerabilities, providing a rationale for WGD‐informed precision medicine. Whole‐genome doubling (WGD)

Influence of NCF architecture on the morphology of forming induced wrinkling

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2023
Biaxial Non-Crimp Fabrics (NCFs) offer the high deposition rates needed to meet the increased production rate targets of the aerospace industry, but formability remains an issue for complex parts. In this study a large scale, complex geometry with a span

A Return to Normality: A Descriptive Qualitative Interview Study Exploring the Patient Experience of Gout Flare Resolution

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Although the definition of a gout flare is well established, the state of gout flare resolution has not yet been defined. This study aimed to explore patients’ experiences and perceptions of gout flare resolution. Methods Semistructured interviews were conducted with 24 people with gout, guided by open‐ended questions exploring their ...
