Xanthones of Comastoma pedunlulatum

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica, 2010
The xanthones in the ethyl acetate extract of Comastoma pedunlulatum were investigated. The chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques were used to isolate and identify the constituents. Nine xanthones were isolated from the active parts of the ethyl acetate portion of the 70% ethanolic extract of C.

Novel xanthones from Garcinia mangostana, structures of BR-xanthone-A and BR-xanthone-B

Phytochemistry, 1988
Abstract The chemical examination of the dry fruit hulls of Garcinia mangostana yielded, in addition to known xanthones, two new xanthones, a bis-pyrano xanthone, BR. xanthone- A and 1-methoxy-2,4,5-trihydroxyxanthone, BR-xanthone-B. Evidence of their structures is presented.

Secoiridoids and Xanthones in the Genus Centaurium

Planta Medica, 1981
Overground parts of Centaurium spicatum (L.) Fritsch (Gentianaceae) from two different habitats have been investigated on their content of Secoiridoid glucosides. Sweroside (I), Swertiamarin (II) and gentiopicrin (III) (= gentiopicroside) have been identified. In plant material of C. spicatum from both habitats sweroside is the major compound. In plant

Allylamine Type Xanthone Antimycotics

Archiv der Pharmazie, 1998
A number of xanthone derivatives bearing the basic chain of naftifine and butenafine antimycotics in 1, 2, 3, and 4 nuclear positions are described. The in vitro antifungal activity against representative strains of molds and yeasts is reported. Only butenafine xanthone analogues show significant activity against Cryptococcus neoformans, in particular ...

Structure of xanthone

Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 1990

Metabolism of Xanthone in the Rat

Xenobiotica, 1974
Abstract1. The metabolism of xanthone by the rat has been investigated.2. The major unconjugated urinary metabolite was 4-hydroxyxanthone (24%). Smaller amounts of free 2-hydroxyxanthone (13%) and 3-hydroxy-xanthone (6%) were also formed. Other fluorescent metabolites were detected in trace amounts.3.
