Characterization of 27 mycotoxin detoxifiers and the relation with in vitro zearalenone binding [PDF]
Addition of mycotoxin detoxifiers to feed is a common practice to counteract the deleterious effects of mycotoxins on animal health. Although a variety of this kind of feed additives is available on the market, little is known about their detailed ...

Zearalenone in the Intestinal Tissues of Immature Gilts Exposed per os to Mycotoxins
Zearalenone and its metabolites, α-zearalenol and β-zearalenol, demonstrate estradiol-like activity and disrupt physiological functions in animals. This article evaluates the carryover of zearalenone and its selected metabolites from the digesta to ...

Direct Ambient Mass Spectrometry for Food, Beverage, and Agricultural Sample Analysis and Research
ABSTRACT Ambient and direct mass spectrometry (MS) methods are becoming increasingly used for the rapid analysis of food, beverage and agricultural samples. Novel ionization approaches combined with targeted, or untargeted workflows provide analytical outcomes within a greatly reduced time period compared to traditional separation science coupled with ...

Occurrence of Toxigenic Fusarium spp. and Zearalenone in Scabby Rice Grains and Healthy Ones
We analyzed rice sample with scab (collected in 2017) for fungal occurrence and found that frequency of Fusarium spp. was the highest among fungal genera. Within Fusarium, Fusarium asiaticum-nivalenol type dominated as 79%.

Plasma Deposition of Coatings for Delivery of Bacterial Spores Active Against Fusarium graminearum
For the first time Plasma deposition has been evaluated onto bacterial spores, and the viability of the embedded spores is found preserved, though it depends onto the film thickness. Moreover, the resulting coating results active against pathogenic fungi.

HPLC assay of zearalenone and reduced metabolites in S9 fractions of duck liver [PDF]
HPLC analysis of zearalenone (ZEA), zearalenols (-ZOL and ß-ZOL) and zearalanols (-ZAL and ß-ZAL) was developed, in order to obtain a sensitive and reproducible method to quantify ZEA and its reduced metabolites in subcellular fractions of animal livers (

Formation of Zearalenone Metabolites in Tempeh Fermentation [PDF]
Tempeh is a common food in Indonesia, produced by fungal fermentation of soybeans using Rhizopus sp., as well as Aspergillus oryzae, for inoculation. Analogously, for economic reasons, mixtures of maize and soybeans are used for the production of so-called tempeh-like products. For maize, a contamination with the mycoestrogen zearalenone (ZEN) has been
