Effect of ZRB2-modified on microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg-Zn-Y-Mn alloy

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys, 2018
The ZrB2 particles firstly modified Mg94Zn2.5Y2.5Mn1 alloy. And the microstructures and mechanical performances of the modified alloys were studied systematically.

Low-temperature synthesis of ZrB2 powder from oxides using Na

open access: yesJournal of Asian Ceramic Societies, 2017
ZrB2 was synthesized by heating a mixture of ZrO2, B2O3, and Na in a molar ratio of 1:1:5 at 873–1273 K. While unreacted ZrO2 remained in the sample synthesized at 873 K, single phase ZrB2 powders were obtained at temperatures ≥1073 K.

Synergistic reinforcement of in situ ZrB2 particles and Sc on the corrosion behaviour of 7N01 alloy

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
In this study, the effects of in situ ZrB2 particles and rare earth element Sc on the corrosion behavior of 7N01 alloy were investigated separately, with the characteristics of their synergistic enhancement being elucidated.

ZrB2 Content in Ag-ZrB2 Composite Layers Electrodeposited by Dispersion Plating.

open access: yesJournal of the Surface Finishing Society of Japan, 1996
Gravimetric analysis was conducted on Ag-ZrB2 composite layers electrodeposited from an AgCN bath in which ZrB2 particles were suspended to obtain the ZrB2 content. It has been observed that the codeposition rate of ZrB2 particles depends on plating current density and on the plating solution stirring rate, so the effects of plating current density and

Multi-phase (Zr,Ti,Cr)B2 solid solutions: Preparation, multi-scale microstructure, and local properties

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics, 2023
Multi-phase ceramics based on ZrB2, TiB2 and doped with CrB2 and SiC were prepared by powder metallurgy and hot pressing to explore the possibility of obtaining multi-scale microstructures by super-saturation of complex (Zr,Ti,Cr)B2 solid solutions. Core–

Unlocking Strength‐Toughness Dilemma in High‐Entropy Borides by Intragranular Microstructural Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An extreme non‐equilibrium process combining heavy direct current sintering and TiSi2 addition is used to construct intragranular energy dissipation units within high‐entropy boride ceramics to overcome the strength‐toughness trade‐off. The resulting ceramic demonstrates attractive mechanical properties with a flexural strength of 887 MPa and a ...

Encapsulation of epitaxial silicene on ZrB2 with NaCl

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2017
Silicene and other two-dimensional materials, such as germanene and stanene, have chemically reactive surfaces and are prone to oxidation in air, and thus require an encapsulation layer for ex situ studies or integration in an electronic device. In this work, we investigated NaCl as an encapsulation material for silicene.

Ablation Properties of HfC–SiC–WC Ultra‐High Temperature Ceramics Produced by Pressureless Sintering

open access: yesInternational Journal of Ceramic Engineering &Science, Volume 8, Issue 4, July 2026.
Schematic diagram highlighting the processes that occur during ablation testing of HfC–SiC and HfC–SiC–WC. ABSTRACT HfC–SiC is one of the leading thermal insulation ceramics that has the potential to perform well under high thermomechanical loads. In this study, we explore the use of pressureless sintering to produce this material at relatively low ...
