Glucuronyl Glucosyloleanolate: A Safe and Potent AI‐Discovered Depigmenting Saponin

open access: yesJournal of Cosmetic Dermatology, Volume 25, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Saponins are amphiphilic glycosides found in plants. They have long been used in traditional Asian remedies for their anti‐inflammatory, protective, and rejuvenating properties. One representative, Glucuronyl Glucosyloleanolate (GGO), was recently discovered using a combination of artificial intelligence and experimental testing as a ...

Mechanisms underlying compost tea–induced enhancement of tomato flavor quality: An integrated metabolomics and flavoromics approach

open access: yesScientia Horticulturae
Tomato flavor quality is governed by a complex metabolic network; however, the effects of organic nutrients on key pathways remain unclear. This study combined metabolomics, relative odor activity value (rOAV) analysis, and sensory evaluation to ...

Tandem Duplication‐Driven Neofunctionalization of UDP‐Glycosyltransferases Shapes the Diversification of Triterpenoid Saponins in the Cucurbitaceae

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 51, 14 September 2026.
We present a chromosome‐level genome assembly of Siraitia grosvenorii and, through comparative genomics, uncover a conserved UGT73 tandem array driving triterpenoid saponin diversification in Cucurbitaceae. Crystalized SgUGT73AM30 further reveals the regioselectivity mechanism underlying its catalytic activity.

Two New Polyketides From Streptomyces sp. SA61: Isolation, Structure Elucidation, and Insecticidal Activity Against Bemisia tabaci

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Isolation of six polyketides (including two new compounds, strekingmycins I and J) from earthworm gut‐derived Streptomyces sp. SA61 and their insecticidal activity against third‐instar nymphs of Bemisia tabaci. Strekingmycin A (1) exhibited the most potent activity (LC50 = 5.58 µg/mL), comparable to the commercial insecticide spirotetramat. ABSTRACT To

Classification, Structure–Activity Relationship, and Anti‐Osteoarthritis Mechanism of Natural Flavonoids

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Natural product flavonoids have a multi‐target therapeutic intervention effect on osteoarthritis. They promote autophagy and cartilage synthesis while alleviating oxidative stress, inhibiting inflammation, and inhibiting matrix degradation. By restoring OPG/RANKL balance and regulating bone metabolism, these compounds synergistically delay the ...

The Olive Oil Mill as Circular Hub

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, Volume 128, Issue 9, September 2026.
Olive oil production generates large amounts of by‐products at every stage of the production process. The olive mill can be considered a circular hub, where such by‐products are valorized through a cascade approach that first recovers valuable compounds and then converts the remaining biomass into renewable energy.

Characterization of Cantaloupe, Grape, Pumpkin, and Tomato Seed Oils From Xinjiang: Oxidative Stability, Volatile‐Compound Analysis, and Sensory Evaluation

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, Volume 2, Issue 3, Page 420-435, September 2026.
This study compares oxidative stability, fatty acid profiles, volatile compounds, and sensory attributes of four Xinjiang seed oils. Distinct aldehyde‐driven aroma patterns and compositional differences were revealed, providing a scientific basis for quality evaluation and valorization of underutilized plant seed oils in food applications.

Effects of Early Light‐Quality Pretreatment During Withering on the Taste and Aroma Quality of Autumn White Tea

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT This study establishes early light‐quality pretreatment as an effective strategy to enhance the flavor of autumn white tea. A multi‐platform framework integrating sensory evaluation, electronic tongue (E‐tongue), electronic nose (E‐nose), high‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), ultraviolet‐visible (UV‐Vis) spectrophotometry, and gas ...
