RETRACTED ARTICLE: MicroRNA-188-5p Promotes Epithelial–Mesenchymal Transition by Targeting ID4 Through Wnt/β-catenin Signaling in Retinoblastoma

open access: yes, 2019
This paper has been retracted. Yang M, Li Y, Wei W. Onco Targets Ther. 2019;12:10251-10262. We, the Editors and Publisher of OncoTargets and Therapy, have retracted the following article. Concerns were raised about the integrity of the data in the article after it was found images from Figure 3 had been duplicated with those from other unrelated ...

SMAD4 Palmitoylation Drives a Metabolic‐Transcriptional Circuit to Promote Tumorigenesis and Confers Radiosensitivity in Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies palmitoylation as a novel regulatory modification of SMAD4, mediated by ZDHHC22/APT2. It activates fatty acid synthesis, creating a self‐reinforcing SMAD4–FASN–palmitate feedback loop that drives pancreatic cancer growth and enhances radiotherapy sensitivity.

Wnt/beta-catenin/Tcf signaling: A critical pathway in gastrointestinal tumorigenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Cancers of the gastrointestinal tract, including the liver, bile ducts, and pancreas, constitute the largest group of malignant tumors. Colorectal cancer is one of the most common neoplastic diseases in Western countries and one of the leading causes of ...

Inhibition of SIRT7 Overcomes Radioresistance in Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumors by Reactivating MEN1 Expression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors frequently silence MEN1 through epigenetic mechanisms. Here, SIRT7 recruits DNMT1 to the MEN1 promoter, drives hypermethylation, and enhances DNA repair. Inhibiting SIRT7 restores MEN1, reduces MRN complex abundance, impairs double‐strand break repair, and sensitizes PanNET models to radiation, supporting SIRT7 as a ...

Oncogenic β-catenin mutations evade pH-regulated degradation

open access: yesMolecular & Cellular Oncology, 2019
β-catenin has roles in cell-cell adhesion and Wnt signaling. We recently showed that β-catenin protein abundance is decreased at higher intracellular pH (pHi), mediated by pH-sensitive interaction with the beta-transducin repeat containing E3 ubiquitin ...

Functional Mapping of Neurodevelopmental Disease Pathways to Key Neurodevelopmental Processes Represented in the Developmental Neurotoxicity In Vitro Testing Battery

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human‐relevant methods are essential for modern chemical safety assessment. This study helps define the capabilities and boundaries of an in vitro testing battery for developmental neurotoxicity by exploring its biological applicability domain. By linking neurodevelopmental disease‐related pathways to key neurodevelopmental processes, the work enhances

siRNA-Mediated β-Catenin Knockdown in Human Hepatoma Cells Results in Decreased Growth and Survival

open access: yesNeoplasia: An International Journal for Oncology Research, 2007
β-Catenin, the chief oncogenic component of the canonical Wnt pathway, is known to be involved in a variety of cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
