A Review on Antimalarial 1,2,4-Trioxane Derivatives

open access: yesJournal of Drug Delivery and Therapeutics, 2020
Malaria in recent years becomes a major health hitch globally due to the surfacing of multidrug-resistant strains of Plasmodium falciparum parasite. In recent times, artemisinin (ART)-based drugs and combination therapies become the drugs of preference for the treatment and prophylaxis of resistant P. falciparum malaria. Endoperoxide compounds natural,

Electronic Smoking Devices Among University Students: Usage Patterns and Chemical Composition of Inhaled Substances

open access: yesAnalytical Science Advances, Volume 7, Issue 1, June 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigated the prevalence of electronic smoking device (ESD) use and its associated behavioural and chemical risks among university students in Bahia, Brazil. A cross‐sectional survey was conducted with 355 students from public and private institutions through an online questionnaire between April and May 2023. Among participants,

Preparation and Characterization of Solid Dispersions of Artemether by Freeze‐Dried Method

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
Solid dispersions of artemether and polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG6000) were prepared in ratio 12 : 88 (group‐1). Self‐emulsified solid dispersions of artemether were prepared by using polyethylene glycol 6000, Cremophor‐A25, olive oil, Transcutol, and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) in ratio 12 : 75 : 5 : 4 : 2 : 2, respectively (group‐2).

The synthesis and reactions of some potentially antimalarial 1,2,4-trioxanes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
A series of potentially antimalarial 1,2,4-trioxanes were prepared by the electrophile-mediated cyclisation of allylic hemiperoxyacetals. The starting allylic hemiperoxyacetals were obtained by the addition of allylic hydroperoxides to aldehydes and ...

Hybrid Molecules as Efficient Drugs against Multidrug‐Resistant Malaria Parasites

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 20, Issue 11, June 2, 2025.
Among hybrid molecules currently developed as antimalarial drug candidates, emoquine‐1 exhibits high activity against all the multidrug‐resistant Plasmodium strains tested up to now, including artemisinin‐resistant quiescent parasites, critical parameters for promising antimalarial drugs. It is also curative in mouse malaria.
