Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

Comparison of P1 and 16S rRNA genes for detection of Mycoplasma pneumoniae by nested PCR in adults in Zhejiang, China

open access: yesJournal of Infection in Developing Countries, 2015
Introduction: Mycoplasma pneumoniae (M. pneumoniae) is the most common atypical pathogen that causes respiratory infections in humans. Laboratory tests are important in the diagnosis of M. pneumoniae because of the atypical features in clinical signs and

Sequence Diversity of Neisseria meningitidis 16S rRNA Genes and Use of 16S rRNA Gene Sequencing as a Molecular Subtyping Tool [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Microbiology, 2002
ABSTRACT We investigated the diversity of the primary sequences of 16S rRNA genes among Neisseria meningitidis strains (Men) and evaluated the use of this approach as a molecular subtyping tool. We aligned and compared a 1,417-bp fragment of the 16S rRNA gene from 264 Men strains of serogroups A, B, C, and

Piezoelectric Surface Charge and Dynamic Stimulation Synergize to Promote Cardiac Myoblast Alignment and Maturation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Surface polarization of PVDF films combined with mechanical stimulation generates piezoelectric electrical cues that modulate cardiomyoblast behaviour. Non‐poled and poled PVDF substrates provide distinct electroactive microenvironments influencing cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation.

Sequence Comparison of Mitochondrial 16s rRNA Gene Segment in Penaeids

open access: yesAsian Fisheries Science, 2007
A partial fragment of 16s rRNA mitochondrial gene was amplified by PCR from Penaeus monodon samples collected from the west and east coast regions of India. The amplified 520 bp of 16s rRNA mitochondrial gene segment of P.

Polymorphism and gene conversion of the 16S rRNA genes in the multiple rRNA operons ofVibrio parahaemolyticus [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 2005
The genome sequence of a strain of Vibrio parahaemolyticus holds 11 copies of rRNA operons (rrn) with identical 16S rRNA genes (rrs). Conversely, the species type strain contains two rrs classes differing in 10 nucleotide sites within a short segment of 25 bp.

High‐Throughput 3D Matrigel‐based Droplet Microfluidics for Single‐Cell Function‐to‐Omics Analysis of Cytotoxic Immune Cells in Solid Tumor Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A 3D Matrigel‐based droplet microfluidics platform that allows physiologically relevant analysis of single immune‐tumor interactions in solid tumors. By integrating real‐time functional imaging with fluorescence‐activated droplet sorting and RNA sequencing, the system links immune cytotoxic behavior to transcriptomic profiles, providing a scalable ...

Williamsia faeni sp. nov., an actinomycete isolated from a hay meadow [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The taxonomic status of an actinomycete isolated from soil collected from a hay meadow was determined using a polyphasic approach. The strain, designated N1350T, had morphological and chemotaxonomic properties consistent with its classification in the ...

Dual‐Functional Ingestible Passive Capsules for High‐Throughput Intestinal Sampling with Sealed Containment and Targeted Drug Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
To address challenges in high‐throughput intestinal sampling with sealed containment and target drug delivery, we developed a dual‐functional ingestible passive capsule with a dual‐triggered control system based on pH‐response and mechanical actuation.
