Cyclic β‐1,2‐glucan (CβG)‐associated solute‐binding protein of type I ABC transporter was originally identified in Chloroflexus aurantiacus, a phototrophic bacterium. Crystal structures in complex with CβGs revealed unique binding modes that are fundamentally distinct from that of the short β‐1,2‐glucooligosaccharides‐binding protein.

Abbreviated Summary The role of the major fungal cell wall polymer α‐1,3‐glucan in plant infection is poorly understood. Deletion mutants of the maize anthracnose fungus Colletotrichum graminicola lacking all three α‐1,3‐glucan synthase genes differentiated severely distorted biotrophic hyphae in planta, and virulence was strongly reduced.

Single‐Nucleus Transcriptome Analysis Provides New Insights Into B Chromosome Elimination in Sorghum
ABSTRACT B chromosomes are supernumerary entities found in many plant species, with some exhibiting tissue‐specific elimination. In Sorghum purpureosericeum, extensive B chromosome elimination occurs during embryogenesis affecting most of the embryonic organs, leaving the B chromosome maintained mainly in limited regions of meristems.

Synthesis of β-glucanase by Candida utilis

Background Using plant viruses to produce desirable proteins in plants allows for using non-transgenic plant hosts and if necessary, the ability to make rapid changes in the virus construct for increased or modified protein product yields.

ABSTRACT Fruit cuticles regulate the diffusion of water, gases and solutes, functioning as essential protective interfaces against environmental and biotic stresses. Engineering cuticle structure and mechanics therefore represents a promising strategy for improving fruit quality and resilience.

In this study, we isolated 633 Trichoderma strains from 15 forest types across six climate zones. Our findings revealed that species diversity was highly underestimated, with 239 isolates identified as new species based on ITS, rpb2, and tef1 sequences ...

Deciphering Role of Endophytes in Plant Defences and Biotic Stress Resilience Across Families
ABSTRACT Plant families generate distinct repertoires of specialised metabolites that govern their biotic interactions. Endophytes strengthen host plant defence mechanisms and tolerance to biotic challenges by upregulating metabolite biosynthesis, modifying precursor compounds into more potent forms, or by directly synthesising analogous defence ...

peer reviewedMalting is the ideal stage to deal with β-glucans. Their hydrolysis is very important as the diffusion of both hormones and hydrolytic enzymes in the endosperm of germinated grain depend on it.
