2, 5-Dialkyl-1, 3, 4-oxadiazoles
Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, 1970A single stage method has been developed for the preparation of 2, 5-dialky-1, 3, 4-oxadiazoles from aliphatic carboxylic acids, by boiling with hydrazine hydrochloride in phosphoryl chloride. A mechanism for the synthesis is suggested. The oxadiazoles are characterized, and the group refractivity of the 1, 3, 4-oxadiazole ring has been determined.

Study on 1, 3, 4-Oxadiazole Derivatives as an Antibacterial and Antifungal Agents
2021In the present investigation a new series of 1, 3, 4-oxadiazoles (3a-j) were synthesized by reacting INH (1) and substituted aromatic acids (2) in presence of POCl3. The new compounds were established on the basis of IR, 1H NMR and Mass spectral data.

Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, 1967Various conditions for synthesizing poly (1,3,4-oxadiazoles) from carboxylic acids, their hydrazides, and polyhydrazides, are investigated. Methods of cyclodehydration of polyhydrazides using phosphorus oxychloride, sulfuric acid, and certain other reagents are not of general utility for synthesizing poly (1,3,4-oxadiazoles).
