Abstract Methods using environmental nucleic acids have become highly effective for monitoring aquatic biodiversity, with an array of suitable use cases, including metrics for fisheries assessment. Traditional methods for assessing fish populations often rely on invasive techniques with limited spatial and temporal coverage.

DNA 5-Methylcytosine-Specific Amplification and Sequencing
DNA 5-methylcytosine (5mC)-specific mapping has been hampered by severe DNA degradation and the presence of 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) using the conventional bisulfite sequencing approach.

5-Methylcytosine immunohistochemistry for predicting cutaneous melanoma prognosis
There is a correlation between DNA methylation and the diseased stage and poor survival. 5-methylcytosine (5-mC) is one of the epigenetic modifications of bases that researchers focus on.

Accurate estimation of 5-methylcytosine in mammalian mitochondrial DNA
Whilst 5-methylcytosine (5mC) is a major epigenetic mark in the nuclear DNA in mammals, whether or not mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) receives 5mC modification remains controversial.

ATXR5 and ATXR6 restrict meiotic crossover formation within heterochromatin in Arabidopsis
The Arabidopsis H3K27 mono‐methyltransferases ATXR5 and ATXR6 repress crossovers within meiotic heterochromatin, are required for heterochromatin condensation and H3K27me1 establishment, and specifically influence the maintenance of DNA methylation in meiocytes.

Occurring at cytosine (C) of RNA, 5-methylcytosine (m5C) is an important post-transcriptional modification (PTCM). The modification plays significant roles in biological processes by regulating RNA metabolism in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes.

Purpose: The role of 5-methylcytosine-related long non-coding RNAs (m5C-lncRNAs) in breast cancer (BC) remains unclear. Here, we aimed to investigate the prognostic value, gene expression characteristics, and correlation between m5C-lncRNA risk model and

Periodontal Medicine Rewired: Mechanisms Linking Periodontitis to Systemic Diseases
This review reorganizes decades of research in periodontal medicine into a multi‐dimensional framework, illustrating how periodontitis influences systemic health through at least seven interconnected mechanisms. ABSTRACT Periodontitis is now recognized not merely as a localized oral condition but as a systemic disease linked to over 70 communicable and
