Assessment of genetically modified oilseed rape LBFLFK (application EFSA‐GMO‐DE‐2019‐157)

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 23, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Application EFSA‐GMO‐DE‐2019‐157 (oilseed rape LBFLFK) was submitted to EFSA to be risk assessed as full‐scope, i.e. for import, processing, and food and feed uses, within the EU. Oilseed rape LBFLFK was developed to alter its fatty acid profile and to confer tolerance to imidazolinone herbicides.

Neurogrit Gold Attenuates 6‐OHDA‐Induced Dopaminergic Neurodegeneration in Parkinson's Model of Caenorhabditis elegans by Reducing α‐Synuclein Accumulation and Pink/Pdr‐1 Driven Mitochondrial Dysfunction

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 31, Issue 5, May 2025.
The study describes the therapeutic potential of Neurogrit Gold as a neuroprotective agent in the context of Parkinson's disease (PD). NG reduced α‐synuclein protein aggregation in NL5901 C. elegans. Furthermore, NG improved mitochondrial health in 6‐OHDA‐induced dopaminergic neurodegeneration in wild‐type worms and prevented DA neurodegeneration in ...

Utilization of Deep Eutectic Solvent and Ethanol for the Extraction of Oil and Astaxanthin From Black Tiger Shrimp (Penaeus monodon) Shells

open access: yesJournal of Food Biochemistry, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The black tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) shell, a by‐product of shrimp processing, is a valuable natural source of oil and astaxanthin (AXT). However, extracting these from the shell is difficult due to its tough cell walls. This study examined the use of deep eutectic systems (DESs) to extract oil and AXT from black tiger shrimp shells.
