Salidroside Improves Oocyte Competence of Reproductively Old Mice by Enhancing Mitophagy

open access: yesAging Cell, EarlyView.
Salidroside improves oocyte competence by enhancing mitophagy. Aging impairs mitophagy in oocytes, which leads to mitochondrial dysfunction. Salidroside restores mitochondrial homeostasis, reduces ROS levels, and improves oocyte developmental competence.

Combining transition path sampling with data-driven collective variables through a reactivity-biased shooting algorithm [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Rare event sampling is a central problem in modern computational chemistry research. Among the existing methods, transition path sampling (TPS) can generate unbiased representations of reaction processes. However, its efficiency depends on the ability to generate reactive trial paths, which in turn depends on the quality of the shooting algorithm used.

Human asthenozoospermia: Update on genetic causes, patient management, and clinical strategies

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background In mammals, sperm fertilization potential relies on efficient progression within the female genital tract to reach and fertilize the oocyte. This fundamental property is supported by the flagellum, an evolutionarily conserved organelle, which contains dynein motor proteins that provide the mechanical force for sperm propulsion and ...

Theaflavins attenuate hepatic lipid accumulation through activating AMPK in human HepG2 cellss⃞

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2007
Black tea is one of the world's most popular beverages, and its health-promoting effects have been intensively investigated. The antiobesity and hypolipidemic effects of black tea have attracted increasing interest, but the mechanisms underlying these ...

Comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic approach to male factor infertility aimed at natural fertility: A multicentric retrospective cohort study

open access: yesAndrology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background In infertile couples whose male partner has alterations in semen parameters frequently, a comprehensive andrological approach is lacking and approximately 30–50% are classified as idiopathic infertility. These couples are often directly addressed to assisted reproduction techniques (ARTs).

ATP-free in vitro biotransformation of starch-derived maltodextrin into poly-3-hydroxybutyrate via acetyl-CoA

open access: yesNature Communications
In vitro biotransformation (ivBT) facilitated by in vitro synthetic enzymatic biosystems (ivSEBs) has emerged as a highly promising biosynthetic platform. Several ivSEBs have been constructed to produce poly-3-hydroxybutyrate (PHB) via acetyl-coenzyme A (
