Spirulina as a nutrient source in diets for growing sturgeon (Acipenser baeri)

open access: yesAquaculture Research, 2005
The eDciency of diets with the inclusion of Spirulina for Siberian sturgeon weaning has been tested. Three isoproteic and isoenergetic diets were formulated with an increasing level of Indian strain Spirulina (SP 40%, SP 50% and SP 60%); the diets were tested against a control diet without microalgae.

Applications of Laparoscopic Techniques in Wildlife 腹腔镜技术在野生动物中的应用

open access: yesWildlife Letters, Volume 3, Issue 3, Page 124-137, September 2025.
In wildlife conservation, we have compiled the applications of laparoscopy, summarized into four areas. First, laparoscopy provides a reliable protocol for sex identification in wild species lacking apparent sexual dimorphism. Second, reproductive management with the involvement of laparoscopy is instrumental in maintaining and restoring species ...

A Comprehensive Review on Health Benefits of Fructooligosaccharides

open access: yeseFood, Volume 6, Issue 1, February 2025.
ABSTRACT Short‐chain carbohydrates are primarily made up of fructose molecules; fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are referred to as prebiotics and are renowned for their potential beneficial effects on health. Since they are inedible fibers, FOS go through the upper digestive tract nearly undisturbed while entering the colon, where they offer food to ...

Impacts of Global Warming on Quality of Male Fishes: Evidence From A Meta‐Analysis of Temperature Effects on Sperm Motility Kinematics

open access: yesReviews in Aquaculture, Volume 17, Issue 1, January 2025.
ABSTRACT Studies have demonstrated adverse effects of global warming on aquatic ecosystems. However, the effects of increased water temperature (IWT) on fish reproduction are still doubtful in species spawning at low or high temperatures. In this meta‐analysis, we elucidated the effects of global warming on spermatozoa functions, key determinants of ...

Brain Transcriptome Profiles of Greater Amberjack (Seriola dumerili) Juveniles Under Long‐Term Hypo‐ and Hypersaline Stress

open access: yesAquaculture Research, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The fish brain plays a crucial role in regulating growth, reproduction, development, and adaptation to environmental stress. However, there are few studies that have examined the entire fish brain transcriptome and its responses to long‐term hypo‐ and hyper‐salinity stress. Greater amberjack (Seriola dumerili) has a high commercial value in mariculture
