Paediatric Melanonychia: Diagnosis and Management
ABSTRACT Longitudinal melanonychia (LM) in children presents unique diagnostic and management challenges that cannot be adequately addressed by applying adult‐based criteria. Unlike in adults, there are no validated clinical, dermoscopic or histopathologic criteria for predicting nail unit melanoma in the paediatric population.

BRAF inhibitors: efficacious and tolerable in BRAF-mutant acral and mucosal melanoma
BRAF inhibitors substantially have impressive clinical efficacy in cutaneous melanoma. However, their role in acral and mucosal melanoma remains unclear.

The Effects of an Educational Video on Patient Understanding of Amelanotic Melanoma
ABSTRACT Background Amelanotic melanoma (AM) is a subset of melanoma with little to no pigment that can masquerade as a benign condition, and is associated with delayed diagnosis, greater Breslow depth, higher tumour stage, and lower survival than pigmented melanoma.

Abstract Mucosal melanomas (MMs) are rare, aggressive cancers with poor outcomes and limited response to standard therapies. A significant knowledge gap exists regarding their genomic landscape and corresponding druggable targets. This study explores this issue through a multi‐omic analysis, including whole exome‐, RNA‐, and targeted sequencing, of ...

Parallel ridge pattern on dermoscopy: observation in non-melanoma cases [PDF]
The acral melanoma is the most prevalent type of melanoma in the non-Caucasian population, and dermoscopy is a useful tool for earlier diagnosis and differentiation from benign lesions.

ABSTRACT Introduction Preferentially expressed antigen in melanoma (PRAME) immunohistochemistry helps distinguish non‐acral melanocytic lesions, but few studies have addressed its value in acral lesions. We aimed to identify an optimal PRAME cut‐off score to differentiate acral melanoma (AM) from acral melanocytic nevi (AMN).

Acral melanoma detection using a convolutional neural network for dermoscopy images. [PDF]
Acral melanoma is the most common type of melanoma in Asians, and usually results in a poor prognosis due to late diagnosis. We applied a convolutional neural network to dermoscopy images of acral melanoma and benign nevi on the hands and feet and ...

ABSTRACT Background Distinguishing melanoma cells from nevus cells remains a diagnostic challenge, particularly in cases where melanoma exhibits nevoid morphology or nevus cells display atypical or epithelioid features. Accurate identification is essential for proper measurement of Breslow depth in melanomas arising in association with nevi and for ...
