An identification scheme for robot actuator faults [PDF]

open access: yes2005 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems, 2005
We present a scheme for identifying the time profile of actuator faults that may affect a robot manipulator. Starting from our previous method for fault detection and isolation (FDI) based on generalized momenta, fault identification is additionally obtained through the H/sub /spl infin//-design of a state observer for uncertain systems.

CONTROLLERS FOR FAULT TOLERANT ACTUATORS

open access: yesAviation, 2007
The Fly‐by‐Wire technology enables flexible shaping of both effective dynamics and handling qualities of aircraft. This solution extends aircraft possibilities and supports the pilot by use of high‐level control laws. Application of FBW for aircraft would make flying both safer, and more popular. On the other hand the FBW system must be highly reliable.

Adaptive fault‐tolerant formation control for quadrotors with actuator faults [PDF]

open access: yesAsian Journal of Control, 2019
AbstractIn this paper, we investigate the fault‐tolerant formation control of a group of quadrotor aircrafts with a leader. Continuous fault‐tolerant formation control protocol is constructed by using adaptive updating mechanism and boundary layer theory to compensate actuator fault.

Actuator fault monitoring and fault tolerant control in distillation columns [PDF]

open access: yes2015 21st International Conference on Automation and Computing (ICAC), 2015
This work presents, from a practical viewpoint, an investigation of real-time actuator fault detection, propagation and accommodation in distillation columns. Addressing faults in industrial processes, coupled with the growing demand for higher performance, improved safety and reliability necessitates implementation of alternative control strategies in

Extreme learning machine based actuator fault detection of a quadrotor helicopter

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
Actuator fault might occur during quadrotor helicopter’s flight. It is a demand to detect actuator fault in real-time. An actuator fault detection method based on extreme learning machine is proposed.
