Acyclovir‐induced colitis [PDF]

open access: yesAlimentary Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1997
Three patients developed acute colitis, either de novo, or as an exacerbation of pre‐existing colitis, following the use of oral acyclovir, prescribed for Herpes zoster or Herpes simplex infection. Enterovirus A‐71 Associated Parainfectious Movement Disorders in Children

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Pediatric movement disorders can be challenging to characterize, given the phenotypic complexity and broad differential diagnosis. While genetic tests are often part of the diagnostic work‐up, it is important to consider acquired causes, which may require specific investigations.

The Evolving Landscape of Immunotoxicity: Charting Mechanisms and Future Strategies for Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Adverse Events

open access: yesMed Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The use of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has significantly improved the efficacy of cancer therapy, but their associated immune‐related adverse events (irAEs) can severely compromise treatment safety. This review systematically summarizes the core mechanisms underlying irAEs, which include multi‐organ damage resulting from T‐cell ...

Acyclovir and postherpetic neuralgia

open access: yesBiomedicine & Pharmacotherapy, 1990
Studies have demonstrated the benefit of acyclovir, given intravenously or orally, on the acute illness in herpes zoster (HZ). Whether or not such treatment influences the subsequent development of postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) has been the subject of recent controversy.

Pharmacokinetics and analytical determination of acyclovir in Asian elephant calves (Elephas maximus)

open access: yesVeterinary and Animal Science, 2022
A therapeutic regimen that includes antiviral drugs is critical for the survival of Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) calves infected with elephant endotheliotropic herpesvirus hemorrhagic disease (EEHV-HD), with acyclovir showing considerable promise ...

Bezlotoxumab as Treatment for Recurrent/Chronic Clostridioides difficile Infection in Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant Recipients: A Multi‐Institutional Experience

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) represents a significant health risk to pediatric stem cell transplant (SCT) patients. In these patients, recurrent CDI is common, requiring prolonged antibiotic usage and increased hospitalization. Bezlotoxumab, a monoclonal antibody that targets the toxin responsible for CDI, has demonstrated efficacy

Utility of BioFire FilmArray Pneumonia Panel Plus in a High‐Risk Cohort: Children Post Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pulmonary complications due to infection contribute significantly to post‐haematopoietic stem cell transplant (HCT) morbidity and mortality. Standard microbiological investigations, when performed on bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid, can take days to weeks to confirm a diagnosis.
