Sliding Mode Control in Aerospace Applications: A Survey

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sliding mode control (SMC) enjoys robustness to matched and unmatched (in the case of minimum phase input‐output dynamics) bounded perturbations, and finite time convergence. Second‐order and higher‐order sliding mode control systems (2‐SMC/HOSMC) retain all the advantages of sliding mode control, but in addition can be applied to systems of ...

3 sampled-data control of nonlinear systems

open access: yes, 2006
This chapter provides some of the main ideas resulting from recent developments in sampled-data control of nonlinear systems. We have tried to bring the basic parts of the new developments within the comfortable grasp of graduate students.

Adaptive backstepping control for an XY-table [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 1997 American Control Conference (Cat. No.97CH36041), 1997
Adaptive controllers, based on backstepping, are verified on practicability, and are used to improve the control of an experimental setup: an XY-table. Theoretical bounds for the adaptive schemes indicate strong transient performance. The robustness, with state and output feedback controllers, is verified with experiments for the XY-table.

Deep Reinforcement Learning‐Based Control for Real‐Time Hybrid Simulation of Civil Structures

open access: yesInternational Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Real‐time Hybrid Simulation (RTHS) is a cyber‐physical technique that studies the dynamic behavior of a system by combining physical and numerical components that are coupled through a boundary condition enforcer. In structural engineering, the numerical components are subjected to environmental loads that become dynamic displacements of the ...

Design of the Nonlinear Cruise Controllers for Hypersonic Vehicle [PDF]

open access: yesXibei Gongye Daxue Xuebao, 2018
When the hypersonic vehicle is cruising, they face the aerothermoelastic, as well as the matching, unmatched uncertainty and the disturbance. This paper presents a control method of command filter Backstepping sliding in order to cope with the problems ...

Autonomous attitude using potential function method under control input saturation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The potential function method has been used extensively in nonlinear control for the development of feedback laws which result in global asymptotic stability for a certain prescribed operating point of the closed-loop system.

Control System for the Navigation of the Agricultural Robots: A Review

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Control systems for the navigation of autonomous agricultural robots—particularly those operating in uneven terrain and in the presence of static or dynamic obstacles—have advanced considerably in recent years. As conventional machinery evolves toward increasingly automated systems, the design of reliable navigation controllers has become ...

Robust Adaptive Fuzzy Control of Chaos in the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2010
An adaptive fuzzy control method is developed to control chaos in the permanent magnet synchronous motor drive system via backstepping. Fuzzy logic systems are used to approximate unknown nonlinearities, and an adaptive backstepping technique is employed
