Colony stimulating factor 1 (CSF-1) recruits tumor-infiltrating myeloid cells (TIM) that suppress tumor immunity, including M2 macrophages and myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC). The CSF-1 receptor (CSF-1R) is a tyrosine kinase that is targetable by

Development of 4T1 breast cancer mouse model system for preclinical carbonic anhydrase IX studies
Carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) is a well‐recognised therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker in cancer. We developed and characterised a robust murine breast cancer model system that is suitable for CAIX studies in vitro and in vivo—it comprises both CAIX‐positive and CAIX‐negative controls and provides a solid platform for the comprehensive ...

Embryo donation parents' attitudes towards donors : comparison with adoption [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Embryo donation produces a family structure where neither rearing parent is genetically related to the child, as in adoption. It is not known how embryo donation parents view the donors compared with how adoptive parents view the birth ...

NIH3T3 Directs Memory-Fated CTL Programming and Represses High Expression of PD-1 on Antitumor CTLs
Memory CD8+ T cells have long been considered a promising population for adoptive cell therapy (ACT) due to their long-term persistence and robust re-stimulatory response. NIH3T3 is an immortalized mouse embryonic fibroblast cell line.

Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSC) expand in tumor-bearing hosts and play a central role in cancer immune evasion by inhibiting adaptive and innate immunity. They therefore represent a major obstacle for successful cancer immunotherapy.

The inactivation of SLC35C1 (GDP‐fucose transporter) and enzymes involved in GDP‐fucose biosynthesis was studied. Fucose supplementation increases the level of GDP‐fucose to abnormal, millimolar values in the absence of the TSTA3 protein and SLC35C1 in contrast to the GMDS/SLC35C1 double mutant.

Contact sensitivity is a classical T cell-mediated, clinically important phenomenon elicited by small molecular weight molecules (haptens) that bind to host proteins to form a complete antigen.

PURPOSE Reactivation of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) after allogeneic stem-cell transplantation (SCT) can lead to severe life-threatening infections and trigger post-transplantation lymphoproliferative disease (PTLD). Since EBV-specific T cells could prevent

Current trends in single‐cell RNA sequencing applications in diabetes mellitus
Single‐cell RNA sequencing is a powerful approach to decipher the cellular and molecular landscape at a single‐cell resolution. The rapid development of this technology has led to a wide range of applications, including the detection of cellular and molecular mechanisms and the identification and introduction of novel potential diagnostic and ...

Rat models of autoimmune uveitis [PDF]
Experimental autoimmune uveitis ( EAU) in Lewis rats is a well-established model for human uveitis. During the last years we used this model to demonstrate extraocular induction of uveitis by antigenic mimicry of environmental antigens with retinal ...
