Association between Urinary Aflatoxin (AFM1) and Dietary Intake among Adults in Hulu Langat District, Selangor, Malaysia

open access: yesNutrients, 2018
Aflatoxin is a food contaminant and its exposure through the diet is frequent and ubiquitous. A long-term dietary aflatoxin exposure has been linked to the development of liver cancer in populations with high prevalence of aflatoxin contamination in ...

Occurrence of aflatoxin M1 in parmesan cheese consumed in Minas Gerais, Brazil Ocorrência de aflatoxina M1 em queijo Parmesão consumido em Minas Gerais, Brasil

open access: yesCiência e Agrotecnologia, 2008
Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1) may occur in milk and milk products, resulting from the ingestion of aflatoxin B1 in feedstuffs by dairy cow. A total of 88 samples of Parmesan cheese marketed in Minas Gerais state, Brazil, from March 2004 to December 2004, were ...

An Overview of West African Traditional Soft Cheese: Processing, Safety, and Quality Characteristics

open access: yesComprehensive Reviews in Food Science and Food Safety, Volume 24, Issue 6, November 2025.
ABSTRACT West African soft cheese (WASC) is widely consumed and nutritionally valuable across West Africa. It also sustains livelihoods, particularly among Fulani households, by providing regular income for women and strengthens household food security and autonomy. However, concerns persist about its safety and quality.

High Performance Room Temperature Multiferroic Properties of w‐MnSe Altermagnet

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 43, October 22, 2025.
Using first‐principles calculations, for the first time the Altermagneto‐Ferroelectric Coupling Effect (AFCE) is proposed, which enables control of both electric polarization and spin splitting in the band structure due to polyhedral rotations. This uncovers robust multiferroicity in wurtzite MnSe at room temperature, offering an exciting route for ...

3D Topological Inorganic Electrides: Screening, Properties, and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 37, October 6, 2025.
In inorganic electrides, zero‐, one‐, and two‐dimensional (0D, 1D, and 2D) interstitial anionic electrons interconnect within lattice cavities, collectively forming a three‐dimensional (3D) network, further coupling magnetism and topological features, leading to the emergence of 3D topological inorganic electrides.

Pleurotus eryngii Culture Filtrate and Aqueous Extracts Alleviate Aflatoxin B1 Synthesis

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
Pleurotus eryngii culture filtrate and aqueous extract could be a potent “greener” solution against Aflatoxin synthesis. The highest inhibition, 48.06%, is on the third day of incubation with the concentration of 0.5% of Pleurotus eryngii var. elaeoselini aqueous extract. Pleurotus eryngii var. ferulae culture filtrate at the concentrations of 0.5% and

AFM1 in Milk: Physical, Biological, and Prophylactic Methods to Mitigate Contamination

open access: yesToxins, 2015
Aflatoxins (AFs) are toxic, carcinogenic, immunosuppressive secondary metabolites produced by some Aspergillus species which colonize crops, including many dietary staple foods and feed components. AFB1 is the prevalent and most toxic among AFs.

The Effect of Lactobacillus rhamnosus on AFM1 Detoxification in Ice Cream

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Agriculture - Food Science and Technology
This study investigates the effectiveness of Lactobacillus rhamnosus in the detoxification of AFM1 contamination. Experiments conducted on two groups of ice cream samples measured an average AFM1 level of 0.0308 µg/kg in the control group and 0.0258 µg/kg in the group with L. rhamnosus added. The results indicate that L. rhamnosus significantly reduced
