A Mathematical Model that Simulates Control Options for African Swine Fever Virus (ASFV)
A stochastic model designed to simulate transmission dynamics of African swine fever virus (ASFV) in a free-ranging pig population under various intervention scenarios is presented. The model was used to assess the relative impact of the timing of the implementation of different control strategies on disease-related mortality.

African swine fever virus (ASFV) causes acute hemorrhagic infectious disease in pigs. The ASFV genome encodes various proteins that enable the virus to escape innate immunity; however, the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood.

Intra-epidemic genome variation in highly pathogenic African swine fever virus (ASFV) from the country of Georgia. [PDF]
African swine fever virus (ASFV) causes an acute hemorrhagic infection in suids with a mortality rate of up to 100%. No vaccine is available and the potential for catastrophic disease in Europe remains elevated due to the ongoing ASF epidemic in Russia and Baltic countries.

Evaluation of the risk factors contributing to the African swine fever occurrence in Sardinia, Italy [PDF]
This study assesses the relation between hypothesized risk factors and African swine fever virus (ASFV) distribution in Sardinia (Italy) after the beginning of the eradication program in 1993, using a Bayesian multivariable logistic regression mixed ...

Machine‐Learning Microfluidic Minute‐Scale Microorganism Metrics Monitoring(M6)
ABSTRACT On‐site monitoring of microorganisms remains challenging because of low concentrations, strong background interference, and dynamic aerosol diffusion, particularly for aerosol‐transmitted pathogens. Here, we report a rapid detection platform that integrates a Puri‐focusing microfluidic chip, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and ...

Structure and function of African swine fever virus proteins: Current understanding
African swine fever virus (ASFV) is a highly infectious and lethal double-stranded DNA virus that is responsible for African swine fever (ASF). ASFV was first reported in Kenya in 1921.
