Legumain (LGMN) is upregulated in macrophages during sarcoid‑like granuloma formation. Macrophage‑derived LGMN binds to integrin αvβ3 and suppresses mTORC1/STAT1 signaling to restrain M1 macrophage polarization. Intratracheal delivery of lipid nanoparticles carrying Lgmn plasmid DNA (pDNA) elevates LGMN expression and effectively attenuates pulmonary ...

Cer24:1 levels are reduced in neutrophilic asthma and inversely correlate with disease severity and airway neutrophilia. Restoring Cer24:1 suppresses pathogenic Th17 differentiation by engaging EP2 on CD4+ T cells, thereby dampening the JAK2–STAT3–RORγt axis and reducing IL‐17 production.

A cascade‐responsive MXene@Cu‐MOF/GelMA hydrogel is engineered as a “skeleton–backpack” platform for extensive tracheal repair. The MXene framework scavenges postoperative ROS and converts NIR light into mild hyperthermia, while the Cu‐MOF component provides pH/NIR‐responsive Cu2+ dosing for infection control, angiogenesis, and chondrogenesis.

ETB receptor deficiency amplifies allergic airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness
Background Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is a proinflammatory mediator that plays a crucial role in regulating airway tone by activating G protein-coupled endothelin receptors A (ETA) and B (ETB).

Tracking of [14C]Polystyrene Nanoplastics in Pregnant Mice
This study investigates [14C]polystyrene nanoplastic ([14C]PS) translocation in late‐stage pregnant mice after intranasal (0.5 mg of [14C]PS on GD12, GD14, and GD16, n = 6) and intravenous administration (1.5 mg of [14C]PS on GD16, n = 6). 14C‐radiolabel allows quantitative tracking of unmodified polystyrene nanoplastics.

ABSTRACT Background Esophagectomy remains a highly invasive procedure associated with substantial postoperative morbidity. Pulmonary complications, anastomotic leakage, and in‐hospital mortality are of particular concern. Perioperative corticosteroids are often administered to attenuate excessive inflammatory responses; however, the clinical impact in ...

SERPINB10 promotes macrophage M2 polarization and airway inflammation in asthma
Background Macrophage M2 polarization plays a critical role in type 2 airway inflammation in asthma. We previously reported that serine peptidase inhibitor, clade B, member 10 (SERPINB10) promotes airway eosinophilic inflammation in asthma.
