Mucoadhesive Peptide‐Catalase Self‐Assembled Nano‐Formulation for Effective Treatment of Mucosal Inflammatory Diseases

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CR8L10 is self‐assembled with catalase (CAT) to form CR8L10@CAT nanocomplexes, which can anchor to mucosal surfaces via thiol‐disulfide exchange with mucin, thereby enhancing their mucosal retention. The efficient reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging at inflamed sites would then result in successful treatment in both the intravesical IC/BPS model ...

Toluene diisocyanate-induced inflammation and airway remodeling involves autophagy in human bronchial epithelial cells

open access: yes, 2021
Toluene-diisocyanate (TDI) is one of the main causes of occupational asthma. To study the role of autophagy in TDI-induced airway inflammation and airway remodeling in bronchial airway epithelial (16HBE) cells. We treated 16HBE cells with TDI-human serum

Inhalable ROS‐Responsive Nanospray Activates PPAR‐γ to Restore Macrophage Mitochondrial Homeostasis and Attenuate Radiation‐Induced Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nebulized nanoassembly alleviates radiation‐induced lung injury by reprogramming macrophages through coordinated ROS scavenging, NAD+ replenishment, and PPAR‐γ activation. Redox balance, mitochondrial homeostasis, and immune regulation are restored, revealing a microenvironment‐centered strategy for localized radioprotection.

Long‐Term Follow Up of Two Patients With Variants in the Cluster 1031‐1159 of TRRAP Gene: Expanding the Phenotype of Developmental Delay With or Without Dysmorphic Facies and Autism

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The transformation/transcription domain‐associated protein (TRRAP) gene encodes a large multidomain protein, a member of the phosphatidylinositol 3‐kinase‐related kinase (PIKK) family. TRRAP is a component of the histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex, and it plays an important role in gene transcription, DNA repair, and cell‐cycle regulation.

Inhibition of Orai-STIM coupling alleviates experimentally-induced airways remodeling changes

open access: yesRevista Alergia México, 2018
Background: In asthma, airway remodeling changes contribute to thickening of airway walls and, consequently, lead to poor clinical outcomes among asthmatic patients.

TGF-β1 promotes SCD1 expression via the PI3K-Akt-mTOR-SREBP1 signaling pathway in lung fibroblasts

open access: yesRespiratory Research, 2023
Background Lung fibroblast activation is associated with airway remodeling during asthma progression. Stearoyl-CoA desaturase 1 (SCD1) plays an important role in the response of fibroblasts to growth factors.

Remodeling of the lower and upper airways

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Otorhinolaryngology, 2009
Remodeling is defined as modeling again or differently, as reconstructing. Remodeling is a critical aspect of wound repair in all organs; it represents a dynamic process that associates the production and degradation of matrix in reaction to inflammation.

Resolution of Refractory Multifocal Atrial Tachycardia in Costello Syndrome Using Trametinib: A Case Supporting MEK Inhibitors as Targeted, Specific Antiarrhythmic

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arrhythmias affect approximately half of patients with Costello syndrome (CS, OMIM # 218040), with non‐reentrant atrial tachycardia being the most common. This case describes an infant with Costello syndrome carrying the pathogenic HRAS c.34G>A (p.G12S) variant who developed early‐onset, drug‐refractory multifocal atrial tachycardia (MAT ...

Therapy for Myhre Syndrome: Goals, Misconceptions, and Current Agents

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part C: Seminars in Medical Genetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Myhre Syndrome (MYHRS, MIM #139210) is a rare, multisystem connective tissue disorder caused by recurrent heterozygous gain‐of‐function pathogenic variants in the SMAD4 gene, a key player in TGF‐β signaling and a regulator of extracellular matrix homeostasis.
