N-Heterocyclic Carbene-Catalyzed Decarboxylative Alkylation of Aldehydes.

open access: yesJournal of the American Chemical Society, 2019
We found that N-heterocyclic carbene catalysis promoted the unprecedented decarboxylative coupling of aryl aldehydes and tertiary or secondary alkyl carboxylic acid-derived redox-active esters to produce aryl alkyl ketones.

Effect of zeolites on the alkylation of aromatics with alkanes using a Pd nanoparticle/solid acid cooperative catalytic system

open access: yesGreen Carbon
The direct alkylation of benzene with alkanes is an effective method for alkylbenzene production. Our group previously discovered that a mixture of supported Pd nanoparticles and solid acids effectively promoted the alkylation of benzene with alkanes ...

Synthesis, screening, and sequencing of cysteine-rich one-bead one-compound peptide libraries. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Cysteine-rich peptides are valued as tags for biarsenical fluorophores and as environmentally important reagents for binding toxic heavy metals. Due to the inherent difficulties created by cysteine, the power of one-bead one-compound (OBOC) libraries has

Direct C(sp2)–H alkylation of unactivated arenes enabled by photoinduced Pd catalysis

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
Direct catalytic C(sp2)–H alkylation of unactivated arenes with alkyl halides remains elusive despite the progress in C-H functionalization. Here, the authors report the catalytic C(sp2)–H alkylation of unactivated arenes with alkyl bromides via visible ...

Novel sulfur and selenium containing bis-α-amino acids from 4-hydroxyproline [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The synthesis of new substituted prolines carrying at C-4 a second α-amino acid residue is reported. The amino acid, l-cysteine or l-selenocysteine, is linked to the proline ring through the sulfur or the selenium atom, respectively.

Chromium‐Catalyzed Alkylation of Amines by Alcohols

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, 2020
The alkylation of amines by alcohols is a broadly applicable, sustainable, and selective method for the synthesis of alkyl amines, which are important bulk and fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and agrochemicals.

Modeling of Benzene with Ethylene Alkylation

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
The paper considers the benzene alkylation with ethylene model development with the use of zeolite catalyst. A list of reactions occurring in the alkylation reactor was made and the thermodynamic possibility of determination of these reactions by the ...

Structure and function prediction of human homologue hABH5 of _E. coli_ ALKB5 using in silico approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Newly discovered human homologues of ALKB protein have shown the activity of DNA damaging drugs, used for cancer therapy. Little is known about the structure and function of hABH5, one of the members of this superfamily.

Synthesis and structure of novel tripodal ligands based on tetrazol-5-thioles

open access: yesЖурнал Белорусского государственного университета: Химия, 2022
Novel tripodal ligands (R1N4CS)3CH, where R1 = Me, Ph, were synthesised by alkylation of 1-R-tetrazol-5-thioles with iodoform in alkaline media. These ligands were identified based on data of elemental analysis, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy ...

The NADPH-Dependent thioredoxin reductase C-2-Cys peroxiredoxin redox system modulates the activity of thioredoxin x in arabidopsis chloroplasts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The chloroplast redox network is composed of a complex set of thioredoxins (Trxs), reduced by ferredoxin (Fdx) via a Fdx-dependent Trx reductase (FTR), and an NADPH-dependent Trx reductase with a joint Trx domain, NTRC, which efficiently reduces 2-Cys ...
