Health‐Related Quality of Life in Stevens‐Johnson Syndrome and Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis: A Qualitative Study

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Epidermal necrolysis (EN), including Stevens‐Johnson syndrome (SJS) and toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), are severe cutaneous drug reactions with high morbidity. However, the quality of life (QoL) impact during acute hospitalization is not well understood.

Opposing effects of TIGAR- and RAC1-derived ROS on Wnt-driven proliferation in the mouse intestine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Reactive oxygen species (ROS) participate in numerous cell responses, including proliferation, DNA damage, and cell death. Based on these disparate activities, both promotion and inhibition of ROS have been proposed for cancer therapy.

The Sooner, the Better: Neuroprotective Strategies in Fetuses With Congenital Heart Disease

open access: yesPrenatal Diagnosis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Congenital heart disease (CHD) is the most frequent congenital malformation at birth and is associated with neurodevelopmental impairments. Alterations in cardiovascular physiology can lead to reduced cerebral blood perfusion and oxygenation, which negatively affects brain growth and maturation.

Long‐term remission in gout: Challenges and future opportunities

open access: yesRheumatology &Autoimmunity, EarlyView.
Prolonged hyperuricemia is a major risk factor for gout, which is now regarded as a curable disease. Awareness of the various factors that can trigger gout flares is essential for their prevention. An important determinant of treatment decisions and long‐term follow‐up is the quality of the clinician–patient relationship. The “treat‐to‐target” approach

Perioperative Nivolumab in Resectable Non‐Small Cell Lung Cancer: A Subanalysis of Japanese Patients From CheckMate 77T

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the randomized phase III CheckMate 77T study, perioperative nivolumab showed statistically significant and clinically meaningful improvement in event‐free survival (EFS) vs. placebo in patients with resectable, non‐metastatic non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).

Preventing Early Renal Loss in Diabetes (PERL) Study: A Randomized Double-Blinded Trial of Allopurinol—Rationale, Design, and Baseline Data

open access: yesDiabetes Care, 2019
OBJECTIVE Higher serum uric acid (SUA) is associated with diabetic kidney disease (DKD). Preventing Early Renal Loss in Diabetes (PERL) evaluates whether lowering SUA with allopurinol slows glomerular filtration rate (GFR) loss in people with type 1 ...

Agrimoniin Alleviates Ferroptosis in Cold‐Stored DCD Liver Grafts Through Activation of the Nrf‐2 Pathway

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Supplementing the liver preservation solution with agrimoniin protects donation after cardiac death (DCD) grafts by activating the Nrf‐2 pathway. This reduces ferroptosis, oxidative stress, and inflammation during cold storage, significantly improving graft viability.
