Effects of the anaphylatoxins on circulation
Immunopharmacology, 1987Anaphylatoxins (e.g. activation fragments C3a, C4a and C5a) are bioactive cleavage products released from plasma components C3, C4 and C5, respectively, during complement activation. The biologic role of anaphylatoxins is generally characterized as pro-inflammatory, since these factors recruit numerous tissue mediators of the host defense system.
