ABSTRACT Measures of an organism's weight at a given length are often considered reliable indicators of energy reserves or ‘condition’, which can be related to fecundity and risk of mortality. Understanding the impact of environmental change on fish condition may therefore inform sustainable management of human activities in marine ecosystems.

Modeling Environmental DNA Transport in the Coastal Ocean Using Lagrangian Particle Tracking
A number of studies have illustrated the utility of environmental DNA (eDNA) for detecting marine vertebrates. However, little is known about the fate and transport of eDNA in the ocean, thus limiting the ability to interpret eDNA measurements.

A Review of the South Pacific Tuna Baitfisheries: Small Pelagic Fisheries Associated with Coral-Reefs [PDF]
A review is given of current information concerning small pelagic fishes exploited for tuna bait in the South Pacific. These fishes are usually caught over or near coral reefs using light attraction and lift nets.

ABSTRACT The waters surrounding Korea are an economically–ecologically important region due to their high fishery productivity and role as seasonal migratory routes for the spawning and growth of commercially valuable species. We evaluated temporal changes in dominant fisheries species in encompassing large marine ecosystem (LME) areas 47, 48, and 50 ...

The previous full assessment of the SA anchovy resource, used to develop OMP-08, was tuned to data up to and including November 2006 (Cunningham and Butterworth 2007, with further undocumented updates). Since then 3 further years of estimates of May recruitment and 2 further years of estimates of November 1+ biomass have been forthcoming from surveys ...

ABSTRACT Growth and survival rates during the early life stages are key vital parameters driving population dynamics of fish. Growth rates generally present a pattern of autocorrelation. Growth autocorrelation is stronger when faster and slower growing individuals continue to grow faster and slower.
