Low Dose Chronic Angiotensin II Induces Selective Senescence of Kidney Endothelial Cells
Angiotensin II can cause oxidative stress and increased blood pressure that result in long term cardiovascular pathologies. Here we evaluated the contribution of cellular senescence to the effect of chronic exposure to low dose angiotensin II in a model ...

On the Origin of Urinary Angiotensin II [PDF]
To the Editor: With great interest we read the publication by Shao et al,1 who propose that angiotensin (Ang) II type 1 (AT1) receptor stimulation in the kidney results in urinary Ang II excretion. The authors have used an elegant approach, infusing rats with Val5-Ang II to allow a clear distinction from endogenous Ile5-Ang II, here denoted as Ang II.

Angiotensin-neprilysin inhibition versus enalapril in heart failure.
BACKGROUND We compared the angiotensin receptor-neprilysin inhibitor LCZ696 with enalapril in patients who had heart failure with a reduced ejection fraction. In previous studies, enalapril improved survival in such patients.

Hypertension regulating angiotensin peptides in the pathobiology of cardiovascular disease
Renin angiotensin system (RAS) is an endogenous hormone system involved in the control of blood pressure and fluid volume. Dysregulation of RAS has a pathological role in causing cardiovascular diseases through hypertension.

Modulation of angiotensin II signaling in the prevention of fibrosis
Over the last decade, it has become clear that the role of angiotensin II extends far beyond recognized renal and cardiovascular effects. The presence of an autologous renin-angiotensin system has been demonstrated in almost all tissues of the body.
