Characterization of a mutant type-1 angiotensin II receptor

open access: yesKidney International, 1994
We have used PCR to amplify the rat AT1 receptor from liver mRNA. The receptor DNA was subcloned into pcDNAI and a number of individual clones were transiently expressed in COS-7 cells. These individual receptors were characterized by binding of [125I] Sar1, Ile8-angiotensin II.

Enhancement of Adipocyte Browning by Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor Blockade. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Browning of white adipose tissue (WAT) has been highlighted as a new possible therapeutic target for obesity, diabetes and lipid metabolic disorders, because WAT browning could increase energy expenditure and reduce adiposity.

Angiotensin II type 1 receptor expression in human pancreatic cancer and growth inhibition by angiotensin II type 1 receptor antagonist [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 2001
We investigated the expression of angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1) in pancreatic cancer. Both AT1 mRNA and protein were expressed in human pancreatic cancer tissues and cell lines. Binding assays showed that pancreatic cancer cells have specific binding sites for angiotensin II and that binding could be eliminated by treatment with a selective AT1 ...

ANGIOTENSIN II RECEPTOR TYPE 1 EXPRESSION IN PATIENTS WITH MULTIFOCAL ATHEROSCLEROSIS

open access: yesРоссийский кардиологический журнал, 2016
Local expression of rennin-angiotensin system (RAS) components significantly increases in patients with arterial hypertension and atherosclerosis with or without elevation of RAS activity in the blood.

Assessing the Relationship of Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptors with Erythropoietin in a Human Model of Endogenous Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor Antagonism [PDF]

open access: yesCardiorenal Medicine, 2015
Hypothesis/Introduction: Angiotensin II (Ang II) has been shown to control erythropoietin (EPO) synthesis as Ang II type 1 receptor (AT1R) blockers block Ang-II-induced EPO oversecretion. To further explore the involvement of AT1R in processes controlling EPO levels, plasma EPO and mononuclear cell NADPH oxidase 4 (

Angiotensin Receptor Blocker (ARB): Is it Effective to Prevent Cerebral Malaria? [PDF]

open access: yesAfro-Egyptian Journal of Infectious and Endemic Diseases
Cerebral malaria is a severe complication of plasmodium falciparum infection with 15-25% mortality rates. Sequestration of infected red blood cells disrupts the blood brain barried leading to irreversible brain damage, impacting quality of life.

Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor Autoantibodies in Postural Tachycardia Syndrome

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2018
BackgroundBoth the adrenergic and renin‐angiotensin systems contribute to orthostatic circulatory homeostasis, which is impaired in postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).

Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor–associated Protein [PDF]

open access: yesHypertension, 2013
See related article, pp 1203–1210 Most physiological actions of angiotensin (Ang) II are mediated by its binding to the Ang II type 1 receptors (AT1R). These include, but are not limited to, vasoconstriction, increased renal sodium and water reabsorption, as well as the stimulation of aldosterone release, thirst, vasopressin secretion, and cell growth.

Cytokine Profiles Associated With Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor Antibodies

open access: yesKidney International Reports, 2019
Introduction: Angiotensin II type 1 receptor antibody (AT1R-Ab), is a non–human leukocyte antigen (HLA) antibody implicated in poor renal allograft outcomes, although its actions may be mediated through a different pathway than HLA donor-specific ...

The Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor-Associated Protein Attenuates Angiotensin II-Mediated Inhibition of the Renal Outer Medullary Potassium Channel in Collecting Duct Cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2021
Adjustments in renal K+ excretion constitute a central mechanism for K+ homeostasis. The renal outer medullary potassium (ROMK) channel accounts for the major K+ secretory route in collecting ducts during basal conditions.
