Synthetic anthocyanidins and their antioxidant properties [PDF]
Anthocyanidins were synthesized to study the effect of methoxy substitution on the B ring to their antioxidant property. Comparative FRAP studies show 2'- and 4'-methoxy substituents have higher antioxidant activities, which may be attributed to both resonance and inductive effects.Graphical abstract:Anthocyanidins as reducing agents.

Molecular identification of 1-Cys peroxiredoxin and anthocyanidin/flavonol 3galactosyltransferase from proanthocyanidin-rich young fruits of persimmon ( Thunb.) [PDF]
Fruits of persimmon (Diospyros kaki Thunb.) accumulate large amounts of proanthocyanidins (PAs) in the early stages of development. Astringent (A)-type fruits remain rich in soluble PAs even after they reach full-mature stage, whereas non-astringent (NA)-

Ethanol triggers grape gene expression leading to anthocyanin accumulation during berry ripening [PDF]
Recent studies have shown that low doses of ethanol stimulate the maturation of some fruits. The present work showed that spraying Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, with 5% ethanol at veraison enhances the anthocyanin accumulation.

Recombinant expression and functional characterisation of regiospecific flavonoid glucosyltransferases from Hieracium pilosella L. [PDF]
Five glucosyltransferases were cloned by RT-PCR amplification using total RNA from Hieracium pilosella L. (Asteraceae) inflorescences as template. Expression was accomplished in Escherichia coli, and three of the HIS-tagged enzymes, UGT90A7, UGT95A1, and
