Human Umbilical Cord Mesenchymal Stem Cell‐Derived Microvesicles Alleviate Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia in Preterm Rats by Inhibiting Neutrophil Extracellular Trap Formation

open access: yesPediatric Discovery, EarlyView.
Excessive neutrophil extracellular trap (NET) extrusion (NETosis) links prenatal inflammation to bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) pathogenesis. Treatment with human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell‐derived microvesicles suppresses NET formation, reduces lung injury, and promotes alveolarization in a preterm rat model, offering a promising cell‐free

Clinical predictors of response to methotrexate in patients with rheumatoid arthritis: A systematic review

open access: yesRheumatology &Autoimmunity, EarlyView.
This review integrates clinical, immunological, genetic, and multi‐omic evidence, highlighting dynamic inflammatory and adenosine‐pathway biomarkers and reinforcing treat‐to‐target principles as the most actionable framework for personalized methotrexate therapy.

IL‐33 Drives Inflammatory Changes and Extracellular Trap Formation in Eosinophils Involving Oxidised LDL and Complement Pathways

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
IL‐33 induces inflammatory gene signatures in eosinophils, characterised by the upregulation of cell surface markers, inflammatory mediators and regulatory factors, all of which were also observed in nasal polyp‐derived eosinophils. Ox‐LDL and complement fragments (C3a and C5a) promote eosinophil adhesion and survival.

Citrullination and carbamylation in the pathophysiology of rheumatoid arthritits

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2015
The discovery that citrullination was crucial for the recognition of antigens by the most disease-specific class of autoantibodies in rheumatoid arthritis had a huge impact on studies aimed at understanding autoimmunity in this disease.

Lactate‐Primed NETosis Modulates Hepatic Regeneration During Acute Liver Failure via the TLR9/KLF15/AJUBA Axis

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
This study elucidates a novel Kupffer cell‐neutrophil‐hepatocyte axis that drives metabolic‐immune crosstalk during acute liver failure. Specifically, lactate‐primed NETs release links metabolic reprogramming to NETosis‐induced regenerative failure in hepatocytes via the TLR9/KLF15/AJUBA axis.

Autoantibodies to Peptidylarginine Deiminase 2 Are Associated With Less Severe Disease in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2018
Objective: Peptidylarginine deiminases (PAD) 2 and 4 are key enzymes in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) pathogenesis due to their ability to generate the protein targets of anti-citrullinated protein antibodies (ACPA).

Biogenesis of TNF‐α‐insights into proteostasis and inflammation

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
TNF‐α biogenesis, trafficking, and signalling are tightly and reciprocally coupled to cellular proteostasis systems, including ER chaperones and endoplasmic reticulum‐associated degradation. This bidirectional crosstalk determines whether TNF‐α responses are adaptive or proteotoxic.
