Targeting the miR‐224‐5p/PTEN pathway: A previously under‐characterized strategy to attenuate mesangial cell injury and predict prognosis in diabetic nephropathy

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Serum miR‐224‐5p levels are progressively elevated in diabetic nephropathy (DN) and serve as an independent predictor of a decline in eGFR of ≥30% over 2 years. Mechanistically, miR‐224‐5p directly targets PTEN 3’‐UTR, suppressing PTEN and the activation of the AKT pathway in high‐glucose‐stimulated mesangial cells.

Clinical and immunologic characteristics of Japanese patients with anti-glomerular basement membrane disease: case reports and literature review

open access: yesRenal Replacement Therapy, 2021
Background Clinical studies of anti-glomerular basement membrane (GBM) disease were limited because of the low incidence. We aimed to report the characteristics, treatments, and outcomes of patients with anti-GBM disease at a tertiary reference medical ...

Role of RIPK1/RIPK3/MLKL signalling pathway in sepsis‐associated acute kidney injury

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract Sepsis‐associated acute kidney injury (SA‐AKI) is a common clinical syndrome in critically ill patients, and its high mortality rate is closely related to complex pathological mechanisms. Existing studies have shown that the pathophysiological process of SA‐AKI involves complex multi‐mechanism interactions, including an uncontrolled systemic ...

One case of anti-glomerular basement membrane disease with serum circulating antibodies tested by ELISA to be negative

open access: yesLinchuang shenzangbing zazhi, 2020

Expression characteristics of dual‐specificity phosphatase 2 and hypoxia‐inducible factor‐1α in acute kidney injury and preliminary study of the effect of dual‐specificity phosphatase 2 on HK‐2 cells

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a global health problem with significant long‐term harm if the prognosis is poor. Dual‐specificity phosphatase 2 (DUSP2) is involved in key regulatory pathways in several disease processes, but its function in renal pathophysiology is unclear.

Plasma exchange in anti-glomerular basement membrane disease

open access: yesLa Presse Médicale, 2019
Anti-glomerular basement membrane (GBM) disease is a rare autoimmune vasculitis characterised by antibodies directed against the non collagenous (NC1) domain of the α3 chain of type 4 collagen (α3(IV)NC1). Clinical features are typically of a rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis (RPGN) with or without pulmonary haemorrhage.

Diagnostic potential of B‐cell translocation gene 2 in IgA nephropathy: Insights from molecular mechanisms

open access: yesJournal of Cell Communication and Signaling, Volume 20, Issue 3, September 2026.
Diagnostic value of BTG2 and its immunoregulatory mechanism in IgAN. This study reveals that BTG2 improves immune microenvironment dysregulation, attenuates inflammation, and reduces fibrosis by promoting the expansion of T follicular helper cells, inducing macrophage polarization toward an M2 anti‐inflammatory phenotype, and inhibiting the TGF‐β1 ...

When Glycaemic Control Comes Too Fast: Treatment‐Induced Neuropathy of Diabetes and Charcot Neuro‐Osteoarthropathy as Emerging Iatrogenic Complications of Rapid Metabolic Correction

open access: yesDiabetes/Metabolism Research and Reviews, Volume 42, Issue 6, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose of Review Diabetes therapeutics can lower glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) by several percentage points within weeks. While long‐term microvascular risk is reduced by improved glycaemia, abrupt metabolic transitions may destabilise tissues adapted to chronic hyperglycemia.

Taurine and Metabolic Diseases: Molecular Mechanisms and Therapeutic Implications

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 5, September 2026.
The dietary sources of taurine, as well as its protective effects and mechanisms in metabolism‐related diseases and metabolic disorder–associated ocular and cerebral injuries. ABSTRACT Taurine (Tau) is a sulfur‐containing amino acid prevalent in animal tissues and primarily acquired through dietary sources.
