The Intersection of HIV and Migration: Conceptualising Quality of Life Among Asian‐Born Men Who Have Sex With Men Living With HIV in Australia

open access: yesAustralian Journal of Social Issues, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This qualitative study aimed to understand how migration experiences shape wellbeing and quality of life (QoL) for Asian‐born men who have sex with men (MSM) who are living with HIV in Australia, and to identify relevant support needs. Drawing from intersectionality theory, this paper reports findings from semi‐structured interviews with Asian‐

N-Substituted Pyrrole Derivative 12m Inhibits HIV-1 Entry by Targeting Gp41 of HIV-1 Envelope Glycoprotein

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2019
The combination of three or more antiviral agents that act on different targets is known as highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), which is widely used to control HIV infection. However, because drug resistance and adverse effects occur after long-

Computational Design of Hypothetical New Peptides Based on a Cyclotide Scaffold as HIV gp120 Inhibitor. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Cyclotides are a family of triple disulfide cyclic peptides with exceptional resistance to thermal/chemical denaturation and enzymatic degradation. Several cyclotides have been shown to possess anti-HIV activity, including kalata B1 (KB1).

Alzheimer's Association clinical practice guideline for the Diagnostic Evaluation, Testing, Counseling, and Disclosure of Suspected Alzheimer's Disease and Related Disorders (DETeCD‐ADRD): Executive summary of recommendations for primary care

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, EarlyView.
Abstract US clinical practice guidelines for the diagnostic evaluation of cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer's disease (AD) or AD and related dementias (ADRD) are decades old and aimed at specialists. This evidence‐based guideline was developed to empower all—including primary care—clinicians to implement a structured approach for evaluating a ...

Bad luck or a common reality? Multiple exposures a nurse to potentially infectious material: a case report

open access: yesMedycyna Pracy
Presented is the case of a nurse who had 4 occupational exposures to potentially infectious material between December 2020 and June 2022. In 2 of the cases, the source patient was unknown, so pharmacological HIV post-exposure prophylaxis was implemented (

Anti-HIV lectins and current delivery strategies

open access: yesAIMS Molecular Science, 2018
Lectins, a class of carbohydrate binding agents (CBAs), have been widely studied for their potential antiviral activity. In general, lectins exert their anti-HIV microbicidal activity by binding to viral envelope glycoproteins which hinders a proper ...

Identification of the Micro‐Ribonucleic Acid Profiles of Plant‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles and their Potential Crosskingdom Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
The present study employs small RNA sequencing to identify the types and content of microRNAs (miRNAs) in four widely utilized plant‐derived extracellular vesicles (pEVs). The functional annotation reveals that the pEV miRNAs are involved in regulating the progression of human cancer and viral infection, thereby demonstrating the crosskingdom ...

Treatment outcomes and costs of a simplified antiretroviral treatment strategy for hepatitis C among Hepatitis C Virus and Human Immuno deficiency Virus co‐infected patients in Ukraine

open access: yesJGH Open, Volume 6, Issue 12, Page 894-903, December 2022., 2022
We assessed treatment and cost outcomes for integrated HIV and viral hepatitis testing with ledipasvir/sofosbuvir ± weight‐based ribavirin for 12 weeks in Kyiv, Ukraine. Overall, a sustained virological response (SVR) was achieved in 831 of 868 patients (95.7%).

Photocatalytic Generation of a Ground‐State Electron Donor through Water Activation

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Electron donors that can be excited to higher energy states through light absorption can achieve oxidation potentials as low as ‐3.0 V (vs. SCE). However, ground‐state organic electron transfer reagents operating at such potentials remain underdeveloped, often necessitating multi‐step syntheses and elevated reaction temperatures for activation.
