Rituximab in the treatment of immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy: a review of case reports and case series

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Neurological Disorders, 2021
Immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) is a group of immune-related myopathies characterized by progressive proximal muscle weakness, extremely high serum creatine kinase (CK) levels, and necrotic muscle fibers with a relative lack of inflammation ...

Profiling of Myositis Specific Antibodies and Composite Scores as an Aid in the Differential Diagnosis of Autoimmune Myopathies

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2021
(1) Background: Myositis specific antibodies (MSA) represent important diagnostic and stratification tools in idiopathic inflammatory myositis (IIM) patients.

Anti-HMGCR antibody-associated necrotising myopathy and its association with statin use

open access: yesBMJ Case Reports, 2018
A 66-year-old man presented with chest pain and a 1-year history of generalised weakness, accompanied with generalised aches and pains. Symptoms worsened when he was initiated on statins. Investigations yielded high creatine kinase, high HMG-coenzymeA reductase (HMGCR) antibody titre, myopathic features on electromyography and muscle biopsy, and muscle

Potential implications of six American Indian patients with myopathy, statin exposure and anti-HMGCR antibodies

open access: yesRheumatology, 2020
Abstract Objectives Statin-associated autoimmune myopathy is a rare condition associated with the formation of autoantibodies to 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase. Underlying environmental and genetic risk factors remain poorly understood.

Clinical Course, Myopathology and Challenge of Therapeutic Intervention in Pediatric Patients with Autoimmune-Mediated Necrotizing Myopathy

open access: yesChildren, 2021
(1) Background: Immune–mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) is a rare form of inflammatory muscle disease which is even more rare in pediatric patients. To increase the knowledge of juvenile IMNM, we here present the clinical findings on long-term follow-

Llama-Derived Single Domain Antibodies to Build Multivalent, Superpotent and Broadened Neutralizing Anti-Viral Molecules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
For efficient prevention of viral infections and cross protection, simultaneous targeting of multiple viral epitopes is a powerful strategy. Llama heavy chain antibody fragments (VHH) against the trimeric envelope proteins of Respiratory Syncytial Virus (

Gut microbiota dysbiosis characterized by abnormal elevation of Lactobacillus in patients with immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, 2023
AimThe gut microbiota plays an important role in human health. In this study, we aimed to investigate whether and how gut microbiota communities are altered in patients with immune-mediated necrotizing myopathy (IMNM) and provide new ideas to further ...

Long Noncoding RNA PCALRx Interacts with Pyruvate Carboxylase to Drive Multi‐Organ Developmental Toxicity in Zebrafish Embryos Exposed to Amoxicillin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Embryonic amoxicillin exposure disrupts multi‐organ development in zebrafish larvae through a lncRNA–metabolic enzyme regulatory axis. PCALRx associates with pyruvate carboxylase, promotes PC protein ubiquitination, and impairs mitochondrial energy metabolism, while vitamin B1 partially restores PC‐centered metabolic function and developmental outcomes.
