Novel Anti-Melanogenesis Properties of Polydeoxyribonucleotide, a Popular Wound Healing Booster [PDF]
Polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN), a deoxyribonucleotide polymer, is popularly used for faster healing of cutaneous wounds and boosting of neocollagenesis of photoaged skin among current dermatologic practitioners. Some patients receiving PDRN injection treatment also reported improvement of photoaging-associated mottled pigmentation (PMP). To investigate

Antioxidant and anti-melanogenesis activities of extracts from Leonurus japonicus Houtt
Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Reviews, 2023Leonurus japonicus Houtt is an important anti-skin pigmentation herb used in traditional Chinese medicine. However, the molecular basis for this activity is complex and not fully understood. In this study, water and ethanol extracts and polysaccharide extract from L. japonicus (LJPs) were analyzed by LC-MS/MS and HPLC-DAD separately.

AbstractBackgroundN‐acetylglucosamine (NAG) is an amino sugar which can reduce melanin production. NAG has previously been formulated for topical use in many nanocarrier systems, excluding microemulsions (MEs). In this study, NAG was prepared in the form of MEs and assessed in terms of skin permeability, cytotoxicity, and effectiveness for cosmetic ...

The Effects of Areca Catechu L Extract on Anti‐Inflammation and Anti‐Melanogenesis
International Journal of Cosmetic Science, 1999Ethanolic extract (CC‐516) from Areca catechu L was prepared and its various biological activities were evaluated, CC‐516 showed potent anti‐oxidative, free radical scavenging, and anti‐hyaluronidase activity. Anti‐oxidative effect of CC‐516 (IC : 45.4 μg/ml) was lower than butylated hydroxytoluene (IC : 5μg ml), but similar to tocopherol and ...

Anti-melanogenesis of novel kojic acid derivatives in B16F10 cells and zebrafish
International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2019Novel kojic acid derivatives (KADs) with the potential ability to inhibit tyrosinase were synthesized and were further identified by Q-Exactive, IR and NMR. Among these compounds, KAD2 showed the best inhibitory effects on diphenolase activity and monophenolase activity, with IC50 of 7.50 μM and 20.51 μM, respectively.
