Isotype Determination of Antibodies
Current Protocols in Immunology, 1992AbstractOn identifying a new monoclonal antibody, or in characterizing antibodies in sera evoked by disease or immunization, it is particularly informative to determine the serological class of the antibodies. The serological class of the protein is determined by the structure of the antibody constant region.

Monoclonal Antibodies and Toxins—A Perspective on Function and Isotype [PDF]
Antibody therapy remains the only effective treatment for toxin-mediated diseases. The development of hybridoma technology has allowed the isolation of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) with high specificity and defined properties, and numerous mAbs have been purified and characterized for their protective efficacy against different toxins.

Antibody isotypes in human schistosomiasis mansoni
Parasite Immunology, 1987Summary Summary Schistosoma mansoni‐infected subjects from the Gezira Irrigated Area of Sudan were studied for serum immunoglobulin levels, and specific antibody titres to larval, adult and egg stage antigens, by class and IgG subclass. The 276 subjects were adult chronic cases (frequently exposed male canal cleaners), primary school children, and ...

Monoclonal Antibodies to Murine Immunoglobulin Isotypes
Hybridoma, 1983We have obtained cell lines producing monoclonal antibodies against mu, alpha, lambda, and lambda 1 by fusing the mouse myeloma P3X63Ag8.653 with spleen cells from Lewis rats immunized with several lambda 1 bearing myeloma proteins. The anti-lambda 1 antibody is particularly useful.

Antibodies, isotypes and complement in allograft rejection
Current Opinion in Organ Transplantation, 2008Classical complement activation is a key step in the process of antibody-mediated rejection. Emphasizing novel diagnostic strategies, this study will discuss recent studies highlighting the particular relevance of alloantibodies with complement-fixing ability.Reinforcing the pivotal role of complement, numerous studies have shown tight associations of ...

Antibody Isotype Switching in Vertebrates
2015The humoral or antibody-mediated immune response in vertebrates has evolved to respond to diverse antigenic challenges in various anatomical locations. Diversification of the immunoglobulin heavy chain (IgH) constant region via isotype switching allows for remarkable plasticity in the immune response, including versatile tissue distribution, Fc ...

Natural Antibody Isotypes as Predictors of Survival in Laying Hens
To identify possible relationships between survival and titers of natural antibody (NAb) isotypes in serum of laying hens, birds from 12 purebred layer lines of 2 commercial breeds, Rhode Island Red (n = 524) and White Leghorn (n = 538), were monitored for survival during one laying period (from 20 until 70 wk of age).

Estimation of IgE antibody with a nonisotopic technique with no interference of isotypic antibodies
Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 1988A modified ELISA was developed to estimate antigen-specific IgE antibody. IgE against ragweed antigen E (AgE) was the model system, and paired pre- and postimmunotherapy sera were evaluated because the latter had been demonstrated to contain significant amounts of IgG antibody.
