Antigenic variation of Campylobacter flagella [PDF]
Sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of flagella dissociated from strains of Campylobacter coli and Campylobacter jejuni belonging to the heat-labile serogroup LIO 8 showed that some strains were capable of producing flagellin subunits of two different molecular weights (MrS), 59,500 and 61,500.

Tracking TCRß sequence clonotype expansions during antiviral therapy using high-throughput sequencing of the hypervariable region [PDF]
To maintain a persistent infection viruses such as hepatitis C virus (HCV) employ a range of mechanisms that subvert protective T cell responses. The suppression of antigen-specific T cell responses by HCV hinders efforts to profile T cell responses ...

This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Virulence and molecular adaptation of human urogenital mycoplasmas: a review
The pathogenesis of mycoplasmas requires their attachment to the epithelial mucosa membrane of the host cells, followed by colonisation and necrotic destruction of the submucosal tissue.

Antigenic Relationships among Human Pathogenic Orientia tsutsugamushi Isolates from Thailand [PDF]
Scrub typhus is a common cause of undiagnosed febrile illness in certain tropical regions, but can be easily treated with antibiotics. The causative agent, Orientia tsutsugamushi, is antigenically variable which complicates diagnosis and efforts towards ...

This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

The antigenic properties of some putative hybrid individuals from a hybrid swarm population were studied. All the plants were to a major or lesser degree intermediate between three pure taxa, i.e. P. sylvestris, P. mugo and P. uliginosa.

The impact of mutation and gene conversion on the local diversification of antigen genes in African trypanosomes [PDF]
Patterns of genetic diversity in parasite antigen gene families hold important information about their potential to generate antigenic variation within and between hosts.

A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.
