New Insights Into the Role of Neutrophils in Lymphoma

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
Tissue‐resident neutrophils challenge conventional paradigms by actively infiltrating normal lymphoid organs, predominantly localizing in interstitial compartments, a spatial distribution distinct from their classical vascular positioning. Neutrophils in lymphoid organs exhibit unique phenotypic and functional signatures, suggesting they play roles in ...

Methotrexate Toxicity in a Patient With Renal Failure Despite a Normal Methotrexate Concentration: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Methotrexate (MTX) is a folate antagonist widely used as a disease‐modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), as well as in several malignancies and autoimmune disorders. Although low‐dose MTX (5–20 mg/week) is generally considered safe, it has a narrow therapeutic index, and toxicity can occur even at therapeutic doses,

Alterations of circulating innate lymphoid cells in recent‐onset type 1 diabetes

open access: yesClinical &Translational Immunology, Volume 15, Issue 6, 2026.
Circulating innate lymphoid cells (ILC) in patients with recent‐onset type 1 diabetes (T1D) show a chronic activation and a primed phenotype, with overexpression of HLA Class II (ILC1 and ILCP) and dysregulation of costimulatory and migratory mRNA transcripts. Glucose and cytokines (IL‐1β) mediate circulating ILC activation and HLA Class II expression.

The Atypical and Suspicious for Malignancy Categories of the WHO Reporting System for Lymph Node, Spleen, and Thymus Cytopathology: Review of their Diagnostic Utility, Limitations, and Clinical Impact

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, Volume 54, Issue 6, Page 449-460, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Fine‐needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is the preferred first‐line diagnostic tool for evaluating lymphadenopathy due to its minimally invasive nature and cost‐effectiveness. However, cytopathological interpretation of lymph node FNAB remains challenging because of the wide morphological spectrum of lymphoid lesions.
