Antigen-Initiated B Lymphocyte Differentiation
The Journal of Immunology, 1978Abstract The primary “virgin” B lymphocyte population of adult CBA mouse spleen was separated on the basis of physical properties and AFC response kinetics into two distinct functional subsets. The biphasic nature of the primary splenic AFC response to NIP-POL reflected the separate expression of these two subpopulations.

Differentiation antigens and glycoproteins of lymphocytes
Trends in Biochemical Sciences, 1978The cell surface molecules of lymphocytes can now be rapidly identified as antigens and analysis of these shows that much of the membrane, including predominant glycoproteins, is specialized between lymphoid subpopulations, and between lymphocytes and other tissues.

DIFFERENTIAL SIGNALING BY LYMPHOCYTE ANTIGEN RECEPTORS
Annual Review of Immunology, 1997▪ Abstract Studies performed during the past several years make plain that ligand occupancy of antigen receptors need not necessarily provoke identical responses in all instances. For example, ligation of antigen receptors may stimulate a proliferative response, induce a state of unresponsiveness to subsequent stimulation (anergy), or induce apoptosis.

Modulation of T lymphocyte differentiation antigens: Influence of aging
Cellular Immunology, 1983In vitro modulation of human T lymphocyte surface differentiation antigens T3, T8, and T4, by their respective monoclonal antibodies, was studied as a function of donor age. Kinetic studies performed on lymphocytes from young adults indicated that modulation is dependent on concentration of antibody used and duration of culture.

A mathematical model of B lymphocyte differentiation: Control by antigen
Journal of Mathematical Biology, 1981A mathematical model of B lymphocyte differentiation, based on experimental results, has been developed. The model focuses on the role of antigen in initiating and regulating B cell differentiation while other mechanisms, acting in concert with antigen but the functioning of which can be circumvented under appropriate conditions, are not considered ...
