Lymphocyte activation gene-3 : the expression and function in the immune system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Lymphocyte activation gene-3 (LAG-3) is the structural homologue of a well-known TCR co-receptor CD4. Recently, it has been suggested that LAG-3 might play a role in modulation of immune response, by being a negative regulator of T cell activation. To

PD-1+CXCR5−CD4+ Th-CXCL13 cell subset drives B cells into tertiary lymphoid structures of nasopharyngeal carcinoma

open access: yesJournal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer, 2021
Background A major current challenge is to exploit tertiary lymphoid structures (TLSs) to promote the lymphocyte infiltration, activation and differentiation by tumor antigens to increase antitumor immune responses.

Structure and function of T lymphocyte differentiation antigens

open access: yesTrends in Genetics, 1986
Abstract In addition to the T cell reception for antigen, T lymphocytes express a variety of additional T cell-specific surface molecules which are involved in recognition, activation and function. The structure, evolutionary relationship and functions of four of these T cell differentiation antigens are discussed.

Distribution of T-lymphocyte subsets in porcine lymphoid tissues [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
The distribution of the functional subsets of porcine T cells, the cytolytic/suppressor (Tc/s) and the helper/inducer (Th/i) cells was studied in cryostat sections of thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, Peyer's patches, spleen and liver using the indirect ...

Role of tumor architecture in elicitation of effector functions of human cytotoxic T-lymphocytes recognizing melanoma associated antigens [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Growth in 3D architectures has been shown to promote the resistance of cancers to treatment with drugs, cytokines, or irradiation, thereby potentially playing an important role in tumor expansion.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

The cytolytic T lymphocyte response to the murine cytomegalovirus [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
Limiting dilution (LD) analysis with two modifications, the expansion and the restimulation LD assay, led to the detection and quantification of two distinct in vivo maturation stages within the lineage of virus- specific self-restricted CTL after ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Use of organ-culture, irradiation and adoptive-transfer to investigate the role of the xenopus thymus in t lymphocyte development [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
This Thesis attempts to develop an amphibian model system for exploring the role of the thymus, particularly its stromal cells, in the acquisition of allotolerance. Inbred, clonal and cytogenetically- marked Xenopus are used in this work.
