Antitrypanosomal Activity of Brazilian Propolis from Apis mellifera

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2004
Extracts from different samples of Brazilian propolis were obtained by Soxhlet extraction or maceration at room temperature using ethanol, water, and accombination of both solvents. Analysis of their composition using HPLC revealed that no major differences were seen when a propolis sample was subject to different extraction methods.

Antitrypanosomal activity of Tithonia Diversifolia

open access: yes, 2016
The African Trypanosomiases, also commonly called African sleeping sickness in humans (HAT) and “Nagana” in domestic livestock, are fatal neglected diseases that occur in 36 sub-Saharan African countries. The disease progresses through two stages and is caused by two subspecies of the parasite T. brucei: T. b. gambiense (West Africa; Tbg) and T.
