Contribution of endosomal proteins EHD1 and EHD4 to the HIV‐1 replication cycle
EHD1 and EHD4, two key trafficking proteins, regulate multiple stages of HIV‐1 infection: In producer cells, they help produce fully infectious virus particles, regulate Envelope protein incorporation in a cell‐type‐dependent manner, and limit the accumulation of antiviral IFITM proteins in virions.

Chromosomal DNA double‐strand breaks (DSBs) are repaired by homologous recombination and nonhomologous end joining (NHEJ). Recent work has additionally established theta‐mediated end‐joining (TMEJ) as a mechanism for DSB joining. Cells lacking NHEJ and TMEJ can repair DSBs in a homology‐dependent manner.

Malaria mosquito antimicrobial defence requires immunity and detoxification gene regulation by Lola
Malaria mosquito antimicrobial defence requires upregulation of lola. Attenuation of lola in the midgut of Anopheles albimanus mosquitoes inhibits the upregulation of immunity genes induced by challenge. Putative target genes of the Lola transcription factor were revealed by lola attenuation, including Cecropin‐C, Draper, PPAF2, Clip‐domain serine ...

Parasitoid wasps deploy maternal and embryonic factors to reprogramme host physiology. Venom, calyx fluid, polydnaviruses, teratocytes and larval secretions act in a coordinated, compartmentalised manner. Host‐regulation factors are promising sources of insecticidal, antimicrobial and bioinspired translational molecules.
