Human apolipoprotein A-I kinetics within triglyceride-rich lipoproteins and high density lipoproteins

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1999
Stable isotope methodology was used to determine the kinetic behavior of apolipoprotein (apo) A-I within the triglyceride-rich lipoprotein (TRL) fraction and to compare TRL apoA-I kinetics with that of apoA-I in high density lipoprotein (HDL) and TRL ...

Role of apolipoprotein A-I in cholesterol transfer between lipoproteins. Evidence for involvement of specific apoA-I domains.

open access: yesThe Journal of biological chemistry, 1995
A series of monoclonal antibodies against epitopes spanning different domains of apoA-I have been tested for their effects on unesterified cholesterol transfer between low density lipoprotein (LDL) and well-defined homogenous lipoproteins reconstituted with phosphatidylcholine, cholesterol, and apoA-I (LpA-I). Antibodies 2G11 (reacting between residues

Cloning and Characterization of a Novel Apolipoprotein A-I Binding Protein, AI-BP, Secreted by Cells of the Kidney Proximal Tubules in Response to HDL or ApoA-I

open access: yes, 2002
Apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I) is the major apolipoprotein of high-density lipoproteins (HDL) and has an important role in the regulation of the stability, lipid transport, and metabolism of HDL particles. To identify novel proteins that are involved in HDL

Differential distribution of plasma apoA-I and apoB levels and clinical significance of apoB/apoA-I ratio in ischemic stroke subtypes

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology
Background and purposeIschemic stroke (IS) is classified into clinical subtypes and likely influenced by various lipid components. Nevertheless, the roles of apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I), apolipoprotein B (apoB), and apoB/apoA-I ratio in different IS ...

Apolipoprotein A-I breakdown is induced by thrombolysis in coronary patients.

open access: yes, 2007
BACKGROUND: The outcome of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is apparently worse in patients receiving a prior thrombolytic therapy ('facilitated PCI').

Apolipoprotein A-I (ApoA-I) Mimetic Peptide P2a by Restoring CholesterolEsterification Unmasks ApoA-I Anti-Inflammatory Endogenous Activity In Vivo. CO-FIRST AUTHOR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The acute-phase protein haptoglobin (Hpt) binds apolipoprotein A-I (ApoA-I) and impairs its action on lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase, an enzyme that plays a key role in reverse cholesterol transport. We have previously shown that an ApoA-I mimetic peptide, P2a, displaces Hpt from ApoA-I, restoring the enzyme activity in vitro.

Autoantibodies to apolipoprotein A-I in hepatitis C virus infection : a role in disease progression? [PDF]

open access: yes
Background: Chronic HCV (CHC) infection is associated with autoimmunity. IgG autoantibodies to apolipoprotein A-I (AAA-I) predict all-cause mortality. We evaluated AAA-I in CHC patients and in those who were not viraemic, either because of spontaneous ...
