Stable isotope methodology was used to determine the kinetic behavior of apolipoprotein (apo) A-I within the triglyceride-rich lipoprotein (TRL) fraction and to compare TRL apoA-I kinetics with that of apoA-I in high density lipoprotein (HDL) and TRL ...

A series of monoclonal antibodies against epitopes spanning different domains of apoA-I have been tested for their effects on unesterified cholesterol transfer between low density lipoprotein (LDL) and well-defined homogenous lipoproteins reconstituted with phosphatidylcholine, cholesterol, and apoA-I (LpA-I). Antibodies 2G11 (reacting between residues

Apolipoprotein A-I (apoA-I) is the major apolipoprotein of high-density lipoproteins (HDL) and has an important role in the regulation of the stability, lipid transport, and metabolism of HDL particles. To identify novel proteins that are involved in HDL

Apolipoprotein A-I (ApoA-I) Mimetic Peptide P2a by Restoring CholesterolEsterification Unmasks ApoA-I Anti-Inflammatory Endogenous Activity In Vivo. CO-FIRST AUTHOR [PDF]
The acute-phase protein haptoglobin (Hpt) binds apolipoprotein A-I (ApoA-I) and impairs its action on lecithin-cholesterol acyltransferase, an enzyme that plays a key role in reverse cholesterol transport. We have previously shown that an ApoA-I mimetic peptide, P2a, displaces Hpt from ApoA-I, restoring the enzyme activity in vitro.

Autoantibodies to apolipoprotein A-I in hepatitis C virus infection : a role in disease progression? [PDF]
Background: Chronic HCV (CHC) infection is associated with autoimmunity. IgG autoantibodies to apolipoprotein A-I (AAA-I) predict all-cause mortality. We evaluated AAA-I in CHC patients and in those who were not viraemic, either because of spontaneous ...
