Engineering Osteoimmune Responses with Functionalized Orthopedic Implants for Post‐Operative Osteosarcoma Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Osteosarcoma is the most common primary bone tumor with limited treatment options and a terrible prognosis. This review provides a comprehensive summary of the recent development of osteoimmunomodulatory implants for post‐operative osteosarcoma treatment, of which the potential utility in evoking durable anti‐osteosarcoma immunity and accelerating bone

Aptamer-Binding Directed DNA Origami Pattern for Logic Gates

open access: yes, 2016
In this study, an aptamer-substrate strategy is introduced to control programmable DNA origami pattern. Combined with DNA aptamer-substrate binding and DNAzyme-cutting, small DNA tiles were specifically controlled to fill into the predesigned DNA origami

Aptamer-Functionalized Ce4+-Ion-Modified C‑Dots: Peroxidase Mimicking Aptananozymes for the Oxidation of Dopamine and Cytotoxic Effects toward Cancer Cells

open access: yes, 2022
Aptamer-functionalized Ce4+-ion-modified C-dots act as catalytic hybrid systems, aptananozymes, catalyzing the H2O2 oxidation of dopamine. A series of aptananozymes functionalized with different configurations of the dopamine binding aptamer, DBA, are ...

Time‐Multiplexed Organic Electrochemical Transistor for Saliva‐Based Rapid Detection of Viral Proteins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A time‐multiplexed nanobody‐functionalized organic electrochemical transistor enables rapid and sensitive detection of three respiratory viral proteins from saliva. Sequentially addressed multi‐gate electrodes on a shared channel achieve around 1 fm detection within 15 min without sample preprocessing. Clinical validation demonstrates high specificity,

Phosphorylated lipid-conjugated oligonucleotide selectively anchors on cell membranes with high alkaline phosphatase expression

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Membrane-anchored DNA probes have been used to study molecular interactions and control cell assembly, but are not selective for different cell membranes. Here the authors develop a lipid-conjugated oligonucleotide for alkaline phosphatase-dependent cell

Printable Conductive Hydrogels for Electrochemical Biosensing and Soft Bioelectronic Interfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Flexible, conductive hydrogels that integrate printability, mechanical tunability, biocompatibility, and electronic performance remain challenging to achieve. Here, we develop 3D‐printable poly(ethylene glycol)–poly(pyrrole)‐ hydrogels with tissue‐like mechanics, high cytocompatibility, and robust electrochemical function.

Aptamer‐Engineered Liposomal Platform Enables in Situ cDC1 Vaccination to Potentiate Immunotherapy in Prostate Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Prostate cancer is immunologically ‘cold’, with scarce, dysfunctional type 1 conventional dendritic cells (cDC1s) that limit T cell priming. We introduce an aptamer‐targeted liposomedelivering FMS‐like tyrosine kinase 3 ligand (Flt3L) and chlorin e6 (Ce6). Ultrasound induces antigen release and cDC1s recruitment, creating an in situ cDC1 vaccine.

Interactions of Ligand, Aptamer, and Complementary Oligonucleotide: Studying Impacts of Na+ and Mg2+ Cations on Sensitive FRET-Based Detection of Aflatoxin B1

open access: yesMolecules
The effects of magnesium and sodium on the interactions between aptamer, its specific ligand, and short complementary oligonucleotides (cDNAs) differing in affinity of their binding with the aptamer were studied.

Thermodynamic characterization of an engineered tetracycline-binding riboswitch

open access: yes, 2006
Riboswitches reflect a novel concept in gene regulation that is particularly suited for technological adaptation. Therefore, we characterized thermodynamically the ligand binding properties of a synthetic, tetracycline (tc)-binding RNA aptamer, which ...

S100A14 in Tumor‐Derived EVs Targets PIAS3 to Reprogram Astrocytes and Induce Immunosuppressive Microenvironment Promoting Brain Metastasis and Germacrone Reversal Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies S100A14 in tumor‐derived exosomes as a key driver of brain metastasis. S100A14 targets PIAS3 in astrocytes, activating STAT3 signaling and promoting immunosuppressive MDSCs recruitment via chemokine secretion. Germacrone, a natural compound, binds S100A14 to disrupt this axis, effectively inhibiting brain metastasis with low ...
