Anti-aquaporin-4 antibody-positive dorsal midbrain syndrome
Neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorders (NMOSD) can cause various ocular motor disorders in addition to optic neuritis. Ocular motor findings associated with NMOSD include spontaneous vertical and gaze-evoked nystagmus, wall-eyed bilateral internuclear ...

Biomarkers of lung congestion and injury in acute heart failure
Abstract Acute heart failure (AHF) classification and management are primarily based on lung congestion and/or hypoperfusion. The quantification of the vascular and tissue lung damage is not standard practice though biomarkers of lung injury may play a relevant role in this context.

Arterial Perivascular Space‐Mediated Solute Transport in the Mouse Brain
The mechanisms underlying solute clearance from the brain parenchyma remain debated, with competing hypotheses involving bulk cerebrospinal fluid flow versus perivascular transport. Using multimodal in vivo imaging and computational modeling in mice, this study demonstrates that arterial pulsation drives bidirectional solute movement within the ...

Complement-dependent bystander injury to neurons in AQP4-IgG seropositive neuromyelitis optica
Background Aquaporin-4-immunoglobulin G (AQP4-IgG) seropositive neuromyelitis optica spectrum disorder (herein called NMO) is an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system in which AQP4-IgG binding to AQP4 on astrocytes results in complement ...
