Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension Is Characterized by a Distinct Proteomic Profile

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 100, Issue 2, Page 255-267, August 2026.
Objectives The pathophysiology of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is poorly understood and disease‐specific biomarkers are lacking. We aimed to shed light on IIH pathophysiology and identify disease‐specific biomarkers. Methods This prospective cross‐sectional cohort study included patients with new‐onset IIH and age‐, body mass index‐, and ...

Quantum Phenomena in Molecular and Biological Systems: A Decoherence‐Based Decision Framework With Falsifiable Predictions and a Failure‐Mode Taxonomy

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, Volume 5, Issue 8, August 2026.
A physics‐grounded framework based on decoherence timescales (τ_dec vs τ_func), Markovian validity, and falsifiability criteria is applied across molecular systems to distinguish where quantum effects are necessary, marginal, or irrelevant. The analysis integrates quantum chemistry, biological quantum mechanisms, and quantum computing under a unified ...

N6‐Methyladenosine Demethylase FTO Mitigates Cerebral Ischemia–Reperfusion Injury by Suppressing AQP4 Expression

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2026.
Mechanism of FTO regulating Hspa1a m6A modification for protection against CIRI. A CIRI leads to a decrease in FTO expression in astrocytes followed by an increase in Hspa1a m6A modification, which promotes HSPA1A degradation. Simultaneously, the NF‐κB pathway becomes activated, and AQP4 expression is upregulated.

Chronic Smoking Impairs Glymphatic Transport and Cognitive Function in Adolescent Mice Through Cardiac, Vascular, and Perivascular Aquaporin‐4 Mechanisms

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 8, August 2026.
Chronic smoking during adolescence impairs glymphatic transport, leading to cognitive decline and aberrant accumulation of phosphorylated tau in the hippocampal DG region. Smoking‐induced glymphatic dysfunction compromises synaptogenesis and neurogenesis in the hippocampal DG region.

Open‐Label, Balanced, Randomized, Single‐Dose, Three‐Treatment, Three‐Sequence, Three‐Period, Three‐Way Crossover Oral Bioequivalence Study of Desmopressin Acetate Oral Solution

open access: yesClinical Pharmacology in Drug Development, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Desmopressin is first‐line therapy for central diabetes insipidus, also known as arginine vasopressin deficiency, but presents dosing challenges due to its narrow therapeutic index. This open‐label, randomized, three‐way crossover study evaluated the bioequivalence of a new desmopressin acetate oral solution (50 mcg/mL) compared to ...
