Construction of a genetic map for arabica coffee

Theoretical and Applied Genetics, 2003
We have used AFLPs to construct a genetic linkage map on a pseudo-F(2) population of arabica coffee ( Coffea arabica L.) derived from a cross between the cultivars Mokka hybrid and Catimor. Sixty trees from this population were selected on the basis of plant height distribution to construct a linkage map.

Spraying arabica coffee for the control of coffee berry disease

Annals of Applied Biology, 1965
SUMMARYThree sprayers were used in each of three field trials to apply 8.4 g. of Perenox† per tree in a range of spray volumes from 0.2 to 1.7 1.Copper deposits and conidial inoculum potential were determined on sample branches. The critical sampling zone was between the fifth and eighth node proximal to the youngest node flowering in the current ...

Polysaccharides of green Arabica and Robusta coffee beans

Carbohydrate Research, 2001
Two independent procedures for the quantitative determination of the polysaccharide content of Arabica Caturra (Coffea arabica var. Caturra) and Robusta ROM (Coffea canephora var. ROM) green coffee beans showed that they both contained identical amounts of polysaccharide.

Molecular Breeding in Coffee (Coffea Arabica L.)

2000
The cultivated coffee Coffea arabica L. (2n=4x=44) is an allotetraploid species native to Africa, containing two diploid genomes that originated from two different diploid wild ancestors (2n=2x=22), C. canephora and C. eugenioides or ecotypes related to those species (Lashermes et al., 1999).
